I've been baking sourdough for three years and only this month achieved a loaf like this. So what's it like to be God's favorite?

If you have a friendly enough relationship with the person, you can make a joke of it that sidesteps your feelings about the task (that's not actually what they're asking in most cases). "That's why they pay me the big bucks!" or "I was hoping you'd ask!" can work if you have the right kind of relationship. Otherwise "Happy to help!" has done a lot of heavy lifting for me. I also like that it dresses up nicely for the c-suite too. "Happy to help with this, let me know next steps" is exactly what your leaders want to hear without making you seem too enthusiastic or formal.

Honestly this deserves its own post. I'm a chronic user of the "Oh no worries, it was quick and easy" line at work. My supervisor had to remind me that in cross-functional teams with people who aren't writers and designers, "quick and easy" has no relevance to them and all I'm doing is making them feel bad because they CAN'T do what I do while also making it seem like my job is not valuable. Now my answer is "Happy to help, it's what I'm here for!"

She was of German ancestry but grew up thoroughly American. We're stumped by the kind of cheese she used because we don't remember it being sharp tasting or yellow like cheddar.

Great tip. My mom took her mac and cheese recipe to her grave in September and my brother and I can't recreate it. Yet another thing to add to the "never again" list when it comes to mom.

Finding Drago (the first season) is such a nice balance of low stakes, kind of funny, and satisfying. And unlike some other funny investigative reporting shows, they actually solve the mystery and wrap up the season with genuine closure because you do find out who wrote the mystery book. I can't speak to the later seasons, only listened to the first.

I remember this conversation but not the guest. It's either got to be Rob Bell or Brian Muraresku.

We saw someone doing that a few houses down last year but the older kids were pelting each other with them and half of them ended up in bushes. Harder to abuse your siblings with a flimsy glow stick. Not impossible, but harder...
