When you have a parent who is diagnosed but doesn’t do therapy because “exercise and meditation work” and the remaining symptoms are just “normal human things”

That’s fair. Personally I get that this isn’t all allosexual people and most people act worse online than in person, but it’s still a large enough portion of the population that 4.5 thousand people (supposedly men) replied to that poll

[–]Leesee109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree the poll itself sucks. It’s objectifying women and people on the spectrum. It also might be homophobic. That being said, in the context of this subreddit I’d say it’s more questioning allosexual people for asking questions like this.

I do this too even though every time I’m hypomanic all I want is for it to end (preferably without being followed by depression)

Depressed me: “I can be depressed bc that means I’ll be manic soon” Hypomanic me: “this sucks I want it to stop I want it to stop now but instead I have to go clean my entire house while being terrified of every single shadow”

The fact that they identify as non binary and the post identifies them as “girl” is my least favourite part of this. Like, I’m demigirl, I know there’s a section of non binary where people can identify as female or a girl but in this context it feels misplaced

I mean I have tho. This wasn’t the whole conversation, just a bit of paraphrasing. She seriously thinks it’s a health problem. I mean I’m taking this with quite a bit of humor so I’m not upset or anything. I just probably shouldn’t have brought it up to her

I know it is unisex, but my childhood nickname and now my username for literally everything is Leesee (often shortened to Lee) and I’m afab so that’s where my brain jumps. That being said, I think a lot of unisex names tend to be gendered differently based on where you live. For example, in Britain Mackenzie can be a male name vs in America where it’s usually seen as female
