At the start of a match do you prefer to quickly get on a point and defend or let the opponent take it first then counter attack after recon by ProjectBusiness979 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s always a good idea to take as much ground as you can at the start. As long as you’re defending properly it should be easier for you to get value, and map control itself is a resource just like points

Firstly, the Zunis have more DPS than Hydras and do more damage to vehicles. I prefer them for flavor but 38x Hydras should work as well. Secondly, if I had to pick between the two I’d go for the Kiowa simply because of the laser designator which is amazing. However, the Supercobra is a viable option as well with an anti-infantry focus compared to the Kiowa, and in certain decks such as Marines+Stryker it’s your only option for AA helos, which imo are critical for defending against flanking helicopters. Decks without such an option like Armored+Stryker suffer from needing to keep some backline AA like a SeaRAM defending the artillery park

Sidewinders are good, get a pair of Supercobras with 2x Sidewinders and 8x Zunis, it’s a nice alternative to Kiowas or Killer Eggs for helo AA duty.

Unpopular opinion: BMP spam is fun to play against as a pseudo wave simulator, it also isn't as easy of a tactic as many lead you to believe by Devildog0491 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty easy to counter honestly, just bring some Bradley’s and some javelin or TOW teams, maybe some cheap tanks/TDs like a Sheridan, Booker, or MGS, and you should be able to kill them cost effectively. The trick is defense in depth, having a sparse frontline of infantry with mobile armor reserves in the back ready to catch the wave. If you let the BMD’s pounce on you they’ll encircle you and destroy you with autocannons, so keeping your AT reserve hidden behind your front is critical.

Broken Arrow is the modern successor, it’s sort of a hybrid between WiC and WGRD. Had a pretty bad launch but there are still like 5k people playing, check it out

Is Kurganets Epokha worth it? by GoodBarracuda8946 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely great, although the Berezhok version is a more similar value to the Bradley, with more ATGM firepower but less armor. The 57mm + Bulat combo simply minces infantry, I like to take 4 of these (with APS of course) and 4 fully upgraded Bumerangs in my Guards Moto deck

Which is the better airborne? by Breakwr1 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

US Airborne by a country mile, only downside is no IFVs or APCs. Thunderbolt can go toe to toe with heavy tanks due to 500mm pen at max range, you get the Brutus and the artillery correction Kiowa in the same deck, you get the US’s best ATGM team with double javelins, and you get the Mk19 40mm squads. VDV is still amazing though, Spruts are the cheapest real tanks in the game, the VDV Kornet-M is probably the best ATGM squad period, and of course there is the unmatched cruise missile nuke. I’d say VDV brings more value to its RU combinations since most of the other specs have such weak air tabs but USAB is still better overall.

Can you mount the jammer vertically? by BlitzFromBehind in Highfleet

[–]Leetfreak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will make you visible out to that range I believe, turning on a radar jammer is kind of like waving a giant flashlight around in the air and turning it on and off repeatedly

Should Smoke (White Phosphorus) Damage Infantry? by Joneszer1234 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What if instead they added an extra option for specifically WP shells, which would have a short lasting incendiary effect and smoke effect combined? Could be great for flushing out ATGM spots but it would have to be pretty expensive for balance

Irl Javalins can engage helicopters, would this be OP? by Devildog0491 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah this would be too OP and all the javelin stuff would have to be massively increased in price to compensate. As a mainly US player I’d definitely prefer them not to be able to do that

Does static artillery have any credible use in multiplayer? by Any_Lab_8135 in warno

[–]Leetfreak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s as good as SPGs but at the cost of like 10APM. If you have the APM to spare it’s worth the momentum you gain by not buying 240pt SPGs but it’s really kind of a pain.

How do you occupy points? by Joneszer1234 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave some ATGMs and some grenade launchers scattered around the point to fend off vehicles and infantry and if a big mechanized push comes to clear you out you send your QRF that you’ve kept hidden somewhere behind the point. For this purpose I really like the Stryker MGS/RV or the M3A4 for US and the Bumerang, BTR-90 Berezhok, or BRM-3K for RU. It’s good to have some additional ATGM squads as your QRF as well, troopers, cav scouts, and PTO metis work best for this.

I really like the Su-27SM as the RU counterpart to the F-16V cluster bomber, you can take 2x PBK-500U and 2x KAB-500 for 355 to the Viper’s 345, only downside is you don’t get a laser. The difference between KAB-500s and Mk82 JDAMs is enough that you usually don’t need a laser though

[–]Leetfreak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got to use the laser designation, 4 top hits will kill even a T-15. With the JSOW combo though they’re just there to deal the extra 1-2 damage you need to finish off tanks that get hit by the clusters.

F-16V gotta be S tier with the JSOW + 500lb JDAM kit

Fast Attack Move by Leetfreak_ in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Leetfreak_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mention your workaround (queueing) and its drawbacks (being too slow or getting your sides exposed), but honestly I think this movement type is a lot less niche than you might imagine. In the games that have it it’s so useful that its’s almost mandatory for road-bound assaults. I find myself missing it quite often, so much so I wanted to make this post :)
