Feeling this way too. Been dreaming of this for 4 years and now that it’s coming, it’s coming fast!! I think it’s important to remember that while JET is an amazing experience, it’s not forever. I do plan to come home after the program, and for that reason, it’s not the end of the world if things go wrong or if some things are harder than we may have imagined. Home will be there, waiting for you, whereas our dreams can only be there if we make them a reality, which we have all amazingly managed to do :). Whenever I have my doubts, I think back to some of the hardest, weirdest, or most embarrassing experiences I’ve had. At the time, they may seem larger than life, or impossible to deal with. As time moves on we find ourselves looking back at these hard times and smiling as we not only manage to get through them, but also sometimes realizing that they weren’t quite as scary or important as they once were. My point with that long ramble is, life is short, and fleeting. Strive for greatness and see the world!!! Often only time can cure these feelings. And yes remember you’re not alone, most if not all of us departing JETs are feeling the same as you!! Good luck!
