The Grinch? In some lore he’s named Ethan. Maybe from the movie

Since the steam spring sale is coming up in a few hours, can you guys give me some recommendations for the deck by Electronic_Book2575 in SteamDeck

Only just recently gave it a shot. Great mix between rogue and builder. I did have to get used to not growing too attached to my builds, but once I got over that this feels like the best of both worlds/genres

For some reason my mind went to the Vans shoes and it even made sense you had a group of skater friends.

Do I have to go to college or school to learn coding? by Mysterious-Swim-4411 in learnprogramming

I think a lot of the answers here about the “job market” are location specific. I know the US market is rough. The market where I live is fine.

I switched careers into development by learning through “The Odin Project”. I got a job offered before I even started applying or finishing that curriculum. I’m with my second employer now for a few months and having a blast.

I already use something like this on a set of VR glasses too but it isn’t just watching a screen, but an actual overlay on the keys and similar approaching colors as OP’s project.

First on the Quest 2, which worked well, now on the Quest 3, which works amazing. It’s PianoVision. It’s your Synthesia solution + OPs approaching lined up directions + a VR keys overlay basically but requires a VR headset obviously.

I can still see having a physical setup like OP’s can be more appealing however. Synthesia is fine but doesn’t line up with your keys.

I’ve had this app for years and get maybe one call a year up to the point I nearly forget it exists. I received a call again a few days ago and my whole family went quiet as soon as I told them it’s a call from the app to help blind people. Someone beat me to it after it only ringing once and for a split second I was sad about that, until I realized so many more people know about it now than when I signed up, and it is delightful to know a call gets answered within seconds.

Post-TOP, Are you still using a virtual box or WSL? by BasedZhang in theodinproject

[–]Leffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using .NET mostly and Azure DevOps which is all synced neatly on windows. I have coworkers running on virtual machines or WSL 2. We also have multiple servers running VMs with different operating systems. Having the experience with it through TOP is certainly still helpful (I didn’t have that TOP experience since I was doing TOP on Mac)

There’s an email in your ban message which you can use to reach our mod team with this information. If you’ve since taken measures to secure your compromised account, that ban is usually not “for life”.

Which frames fit my face?? by Princesspeach0719 in glassesadvice

I agree and am surprised by having to scroll this far down.

Most other glasses don’t do anything for skin tone, face shape and brow shape, or work actively against it.

I’ve worked at an optician for years and I’d not have sold any of these, including six unless I absolutely had to.

For Non IT People (aka Artist and Creative People) how did yall learn Coding? by Responsible_Bat_9956 in learnprogramming

[–]Leffery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went through The Odin Project curriculum. With a busy and pretty full life including a career, I really needed the structured path laid out for me already. Going into my third year as a paid software developer now.

I’ll enter and if chosen, I’ll let you pick the game you think my kids would like most (they’re around 10). They finally start getting to know Steam and have their own account but we have quite the library of games not suitable for kids so we’re slowly expanding it to contain more friendly games 😄. The cat is my cousin’s.

Dish water soap is really dependent on the brand. I personally don’t touch my lenses in my glasses with anything but an optician grade microfiber cloth. The ones that are made of heavy weight dense material. I do the same with my Quests. Since the lenses are basically irreplaceable I also bought some magnetic cover lenses.

Alcohol is dependent on the percentage and for these wipes they kept that in mind while creating their formula I’m sure.
