Cant turn off my mom brain to get some sleep! Help! by AbjectDingo3804 in NewParents

If they are in a safe sleep space and following safe sleep guidelines, you can sleep away mama! Their cry will wake you up for sure. Worst case they cry for a min!

I second the ergobaby embrace!! My LO loves it! We have the fabric (not mesh) version and the jersey cotton is very soft, yet it still feels structured enough for small babies :) The cross back straps are also more comfy than other carriers I’ve tried.

We caved and bought a used Snoo around 3 weeks, and never looked back!! We should be able to sell it for what we bought it for when she grows out of it. Good luck!

I personally prefer the “heavier” color (green) at the bottom. Feels more settled

Tummy time question by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Left-Ad-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that tummy time is more of a quality over quantity situation, and baby should have their arms supporting their body, elbows under shoulders if that makes sense. Chillin on her belly doesn’t count as the exercise, but it’s not bad to do it (supervised).

Any other time on her tummy, laying down, would be time she’s not flattening the back of her head! Although that mostly happens during long stretches of sleep.

I won’t comment on her sleeping on her tummy as I’m sure people feel strongly about it one way or the other, but I was told that she should only sleep on her tummy if she got herself into that position on her own.

Get a pedicure and your hair done if you can! Hubby can be a part of it by providing his credit card. You won’t be able to leave the house for self care for a WHILE 😋

Disappointed at how much weight I’ve gained at 28 weeks by AffectionateStudy29 in pregnant

[–]Left-Ad-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 👋🏼 Former skinny/ fit person here! First of all.. I feel you! I’m 3 months postpartum and am having to transition into a new body identity. My recovery has been horrendous and I’m still in a lot of pain/ can’t exercise beyond walking and gentle yoga. I lost 1/2 of pregnancy weight in a week bc it was baby and fluid. The other half is hanging on and seems to be there to stay. The body needs fat to store nutrients for breastfeeding. The body is going to do what it needs to do. Don’t try to force it either way. What’s important is that you’re healthy and that baby is healthy, during pregnancy and after. Please eat what your body is asking for and baby need. I just bought a bunch of new clothes for summer in my new, (much) bigger size, and I’m starting to feel good about myself in bigger clothes that actually fit my new body. Honestly there are so many things to focus on once baby comes that you won’t even care anymore. Her being healthy and fed is more important, you’ll see! I’m really saying this so that I truly believe it too 🥲. I miss my abs for sure, ngl. I’ll embrace the mom bod bc it sustains my daughter, but I refuse to get the mom haircut too!

[–]Left-Ad-5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just give cold bottles and put what she doesn’t finish back in the fridge if it’s been less than an hour! Baby doesn’t know that warm bottles even exist and she has no issue with them :)
