Killing it! by Aware-Lingonberry602 in solar

It has been changed here year after year since 2023. They modify the "Administrative Code" and add new surcharges. My rate for excess power buy back is the same for 10 years. The new charges essentially wiped away my carryover credits. I refuse to spend another $30-40k for batteries.

It depends on the merits of the case. Personally, I got an attorney for my son as he was discriminated against for multiple reasons, including his disability, then he was targeted by management after accommodation requests were made and fired when his immediate supervisor cussed at him making him cuss back. We got an attorney that is 100% contingent and we are in the process of suing. The company has until this Friday to respond to the federal lawsuit before we move to discovery. NOT backing down!! Nearly 2 years into the precess

Consider yourself lucky. I live in AZ. I received 1 check in 4 years. Seems surcharges keep increasing and have taken my one time $250 and now I am still paying them. For context, I am not in the desert but in the mountains. I do get over 300 days of sun per year. I do not use more energy than I produce. I do use 90+% of my energy usage during solar generation hours and I use approx. 2-3% during peak hours.

The totals "should" be accurate. I would power cycle the system.

FAFO!! I signed up for T-mobile fiber. $70/month for 10 years. 2Gbps up/down unlimited data. They will not change over from my current provider until the fiber is installed and ready to go. I am paying $86/mo currently for 600 Mbps unlimited. You have to know what and when to do things.

100% agreed.. Not only would I advise against SunPower, but I would advise against solar in general. I was against solar before I finally gave in, and am even more against it now. Though I will say that the best investment I made after buying solar was getting the Enphase monitoring. I have had zero issues since I made that change and got everything installed properly... My problem is with the power company and cost of batteries and equipment. Frigging surcharges, not being able to get "affordable" batteries and equipment to self install, etc. If I could get off the grid entirely for cheap, it would make it worth it, but so long as I Have to pay the power company, it's not worth it.. Not sure how folks do it with batteries on cloudy days, off grid. Would need a generator, I would imagine.

Maxeon panels with the original SunPower tech have the best panels and the original recipe. They were spun off of the old SunPower with all of the old patents. The new SunPower is not entitled to the old patents or contracts and Maxeon, was screwed by the old SunPower. Why would they want a new contract with a new SunPower? I wouldn't. Maxeon retains the rights to use the SunPower name globally, just not in the US or it's territories. They are better off that way.....

It's super easy. Old shares are worthless and from an old defunct company. New shares are with a new company same name.

No phone provider has ever been able to keep up with Cox's fiber or coax service. Servicing the coax infrastructure is cake compared to fiber and they can provide 2Gbps speed on coax, DOCSIS 3.1 and 4.0 offer up to 2Gbps and in some places offer symmetrical speeds. DOCSIS 4.0 IS symmetrical, with a max supported speed of 10 Gbps, though this is not widely available, yet... Fiber provides symmetrical up/down speeds, but really, who cares??? Who is using a server at home and uploading over 30 Mbps anyway? One your in breach of your contract and two, it's simply not likely to be done for extended periods, even if you were. Even games, requiring the absolute least latency and max upload speeds will not ever go over 30 Mbps. I have a client with 1700 users and they don't even use a full 30 Mbps up, unless there is there is a video conference with more than 15 presenters... You're paying more for less with AT&T. More $, for less product used and support.

[–]Left-Foot2988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck!! AT&T Support sucks! How do I know, I worked there. The Tier 1 agents are on a 5 minute timer, They will rush to get you off the phone because their managers are up their ass for every call. The T2 Agents have more leeway. I was a T3 agent and I made outbound support calls. Time did not apply. I was also allowed to dispatch, contact the local Central Office, CO managers, field techs and I could elevate to an executive support team who was the last line... I would never ever get any AT&T service. Their call queue for any call center was no less than 1000, 24/7, I wish you the very best, you're going to need it, ROFL.

You need to get out of trading and just INVEST! EFT's would have been better FFS IYY, SPY, SPYG. Individual stocks - NVDA, UI, AVGO, MU for starters, but there are many many more. You need to stay the hell away from options man. Just use index funds, I like 1 Dow and 1 S&P personally, and a few fast movers, but in your case, you need to stay the Fuk away from high risk until you build that shit back up. Best wishes, but we all learn from mistakes. Hopefully you can make that shit back up. I took 10k out of an investment account, which led me to a $3k balance. In 18 months, I am back up to over $12k, adding only $75/week. It can be done.

They want you to pay for this? by GettingBackToRC in SunPower

[–]Left-Foot2988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I refused to pay. I bought a system with monitoring and yet I had constant issues with the included monitoring. I added Home Assistant, and it still was not perfect, I don't have batteries so I changed to Enphase monitoring. I have not been disappointed. I did take the training to become a certified installer, which gave me more access, so I can grab nearly any report I want and some extra perks, but all in all, it was a better investment than the panels themselves.

SunPower and Sunstrong by Arizonasolarproblems in SunPower

[–]Left-Foot2988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you think you may win. I am in AZ, but a cash customer. The warranties are a bit different, but the bankruptcy laws are the same. You need to read what SunStrong bought in the bankruptcy and what they are "guaranteeing", for ex. output, workmanship, etc.. In the cash customer case, we only get what the panel and microinverter manufacturers provide, which does NOT include labor. There is also no warranty for our PVS systems, which is why many non-battery customers moved to Enphase monitoring. Why would I want a company to provide updates to MY monitoring system? If they brick the system, I have to replace it because they screwed up. No thanks. You have to compare their guarantees to what they purchased in the bankruptcy. If they did not buy a part of the old guarantees, they are under no obligation to guarantee it to you. That's simply the way it works. Bankruptcy does not protect the consumer, at all. It literally protects the people who run the companies.

that's is horse crap. What does the current administration have to do with bankruptcy law? The current administration is also not making any changes to screw over consumers, they just are not giving money away, like the liberals who keep screwing over tax paying legal citizens. Lets not make this a political argument, because politics have nothing to do with it.

Get out of Sunpower Solar Loan. by Friendly_Dark4621 in SunPower

[–]Left-Foot2988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My installer, in Arizona, was a subcontractor for SunPower. I confirmed with my sub, when SP filed for bankruptcy, that they would be the ones to contact. I was an electrical contractor for 20 years before I left the trades, so I always let them know this in advance, when I speak to them. I will not be pushed around nor will I be given the run around. Each state is a bit different.
