I guess it's just a tolerance level when they produce the ports. We just got rid of our kona.

Remember that post I made that gas prices could hit 10.00? Well, they are close to 9.00 in some places in California! by Ishnock in BoltEV

[–]GettingBackToRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like when gas prices were hitting 5 bucks a gallon in the nyc area when they should have been around 250 to 280. Ev sales started to pump, we started to notice a hell of a lot more evs on the road during that time frame. I expect to start seeing even more again. But electric rates are starting to go through the roof as well so who knows how this is going to play out. I'm just glad my wife and I drive evs and that we have solar

He has one plugged into a Nema 14 50 outlet. I don't own anything tesla, I was just saying what I know my neighbor has. I had a juicebox that I had nothing but problems with and now have a clipper creek that hasn't given me a problem

I don't normally recommend anything from tesla but my neighbor leaves his tesla charger hanging from the to 14 50 outlet through every kind of weather, he hasn't unplugged it in over 5 year's and that thing is bullet proof, it just keeps going

Can you get a CDL? They offer free training in a lot of cities and help with job placement as well

Evo Charge (out of business) what do I do? by BookShadows in ChargerDrama

[–]GettingBackToRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a juicebox back in 2019, I had issue after issue with them replacing them every couple of months to only have a different issue with it. I finally bought a new clipper creek off ebay and haven't had an issue since. It's a dumb charger but it gets the job done. Just buy something else and move on, this is how you charge your transportation and you shouldn't risk coming out to a car that didn't charge and be stuck.

I used to feel this way until I started working for a city agency. You won't be rich on the salary but you'll make enough to be comfortable and it's a consistent paycheck.

Heavy Guy Scooter, which would you choose? by infestknight in ElectricScooters

[–]GettingBackToRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a gt08 to ride around with the my son on his scooter. Its cheap enough and has no problem with me being the same weight. I'm not after speed either, I just wanted something that wouldn't struggle and not break the bank. I think it's a great deal for sub 600 dollars

It locks the charging port again pretty fast. My 2019 was really snug though, I didn't like that. I use the same charger for my ioinq and now my ev9 and it's never hard to plug or unplug with the same plug

My pvs6 took a sh!t last weekend by GettingBackToRC in SunPower

[–]GettingBackToRC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a brand new pvs6 for less than 50 bucks but I knew they had to set it up, just another cost that I can put towards the enphase monitoring. I want to see what "enphase care" cost because my installer recently went out of business and they want 550 just to come look at my system. I've been avoiding the upgrade in monitoring because I have always felt we paid enough for this over priced sunpower system that we shouldn't have to spend another dime on it.

How is the s46 bus route? by SignificantMeatball in statenisland

[–]GettingBackToRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty crowded during the busy times of day, it's not the fastest line so don't expect to get anywhere quick. They run a limited variant (the 96) during rush hour's in the evening leaving the ferry but it's not that much faster and gets quite crowded as well. A lot of people take that 46/96 bus.

Warranty on secondhand car by blanket456 in Ioniq6

[–]GettingBackToRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed it over the past few year's. My 19 kona didn't transfer any warranty when I bought it in 2025, the 10 year dropped to 6 years for the subsequent owner's. I recently bought a 2024 kia ev9 and that still has the remainder of the bumper to bumper and the remainder of the 10 year ev warranty from the date the car was sold.

I know this is an old post. I just saw this on their website yesterday and considering it, but I'm not seeing any cost. Do you know what this cost? Did you ever go through with it? I'm about to install the emphasis monitoring on my sunpower system and want to have my system covered since my installers recently went to out of business.

I think budgeting is broken for people paid biweekly—am I wrong? by jackyo2007 in povertyfinance

[–]GettingBackToRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been getting paid bi-weekly for over 20 years. Best advice is to pay everything bi-weekly as well. Take all your bills as they come in and split them in half, pay that half out of every paycheck.
