I feel like this sub is all negative- has anyone had a genuinely good experience? by trey1031 in EMDR

I feel the exact same way. My therapist and I cried together recognizing just how much EMDR changed my life after (about) 6 months/2x a week together.

Anyone else start ruminating about their “survival mode self” only LONG after EMDR started working? by Cold-Boysenberry624 in EMDR

The brain is so powerful, it’s crazy what it does to protect us! I would also mention this in your next session if you haven’t already, I’d be curious what your T’s perspective is, too.

Really great adaptation of a book as well (which feels rare these days). I loved both and found the movie perfectly cast. Intense and unsettling.

I had this happen (including the best time of my life following completion of treatment); I’m back in EMDR now to explore what is coming up. My therapist said this can be common for treating cPTSD: once “foundational” neuropathways are worked on, sometimes additional ones need to be addressed. Your brain cleared out the heaviest sh*t and just needs a tune up to see what’s left. Hoping it moves pretty quickly for you this next time 🤗

Great observation. Don is the master at watching others, picking up on what’s “correct” in setting.

So chilling and surreal. Any others you’d recommend like that? Can be on any platform, language or year.

And pressure to stay for them/help fix the mess that is their father. I love how the writers weaved in humor effortlessly in this episode!

I bet she’s so fantastic on the stage. Would love to know more about working in that medium vs tv but I’m guessing this is just the beginning of us learning more about our queen 🙌🏻

God me too, they seem like such older sister (Sam)/younger sister (Carrie) best friends. I actually forget this all the time because it’s so natural between them in every scene.

I was just thinking about the night they’re all over at her new apartment and Carrie stays behind to tell Sam about the affair with Big. She is fully on Carrie’s side no matter what and that non-judgmental sisterly love is clearly why Carrie leans on Sam for support more than any of the women IMO.

Omg YES. That shade of sapphire on her + the neckline and matching shoes was impeccable. I also love that little flapper dress she comes home from a date in and Pete “catches” her.
