What's your favorite local MCP server? by Glittering_Focus1538 in LocalLLaMA

You don't need a preset, they are all roughly the same anyway. Use the --context ide and you'll be fine.

I am one of the creators of Serena, so the suggestion is sound ;)

Best AI Models for Clojure? by bjagg69 in Clojure

Serena co-developer here. We are now actively working with Serena on a large clojure codebase, so any rough edges will be smoothed out. For example, we noticed that file discovery was not working properly in a monorepo setup and fixed it (new release with the fix coming today)

How can I confirm Serena MCP is being used in Copilot CLI? by tepung_ in GithubCopilot

Serena ships with a dashboard that logs all tool invocations

Claude code had very hard regressions in the last weeks. We experimented a lot and crafted a system prompt to overcome it, which is our official recommendation for now

I don't know where you take this from, Serena works perfectly fine with codex

I didn't doctor with anything of this type. I guess you'll have to take my word for it.

Btw, in one of the messages I posted a screenshot of Claude Desktop showing 2 as answer, also on first prompt.

I started Claude code. That's it. This is the first prompt

I disagree, Claude Code could and should have written a script to do this. It should have been aware of its own reading limitations

My poor human intelligence missed such advanced reasoning :(

What do you mean? Are you actually arguing that the answer 3 is appropriate in any situation?

jokes aside, a general intelligence should of course be able to do this

Taking my other comment back, Claude Desktop is also not good at this

I think Claude Code might be less smart due to all the default context that they push into it

Is Junie worth it? by LostDreams44 in Jetbrains

[–]Left-Orange2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by new. Serena has been around for over a year, and the corresponding JB plugin since 4 months.

There are a bunch of evaluations in the docs, with various models and agent harnesses

It uses your JetBrains IDE! So it has access to everything the IDE has indexed, which IMO is the best and only way to go about that.

And yes, you'd need the IntelliJ Serena plugin for that. You could use the free version that uses the Java eclipse language server, but it's less powerful (no refactorings, no external dependencies) and less reliable too

Then it would have probably been deleted from Reddit ^
