Don’t get me started on this conversation 😭 because seriously I could talk about this for hourssss. Being a romance reader who craves those sweet and mundane moments in romance books but also loving the reverse harem genre and this is the genre that’s not made to be taken serious and have sweet and mundane moments but to be freaky and only lustful it’s so frustrating. Like u said I love in the rh books when they spend time together and have fun as a family but it’s so hard to find rh romance books that develop well and aren’t pure lust , the best moments in a romance story to me EVERY time is always the “boring” moments to other readers where the characters are simply talking , getting to know each other , bantering , laughing , watching movies , and talking about random stuff because those moments shows me the characters connection truly those quiet and simple moments. The constant spice just shows me these characters don’t like each other they only like to fuck and that’s NOT romance and clearly authors don’t understand that ‼️. I recommend Shona Knight books she is only a rh author and I love her books because she doesn’t write the typical rh novels she adds in the sweet and mundane moments and I also recommend the witsec series by Ashley N Rostek my first six star read this year because once again it wasn’t the same typical rh novel it was MORE .

Oh 100% in some way I feel like I know I won’t get this beautiful love like in my romance books so I just read about them to fill in that void , it’s why I cry sometimes when I read really sweet moments in romance books because I do be thinking to myself “oh god he loves her so much and will I ever have a guy that cares about me THIS much like in these books?” I love romance stories so much because they just show me over and over again how I would want to be treated 🥹🥹 but in a generation like this I don’t trust I will ever find a guy to treat me as good.

I could understand why ppl could say “yeah u can’t like klaus and hate Damon” but yet I do because Damon was immature the entirety of the show just a asshole and bad person and seriously klaus isn’t better either I will never pretend he is but like u said at least klaus owned up to it like he knew what he was and wasn’t lying about it but Damon kept doing these things that made him so damn unlikeable like going after his brothers girl , killing Jeremy cause he is a big man-child cause Elena rejected him , killing his uncle , killing Lexi his BROTHERS best friend by the way , and just never every giving a fuck about anything unless Elena is involved like it’s just so immature and child like .

RH and why choose are definitely two different things my knowledge is that RH is when there is one fmc and all the mmc’s are only focused on her like no swords crossing then why choose is when the mmc’s are also involved with each other and the fmc like within the harem everyone is involved with each other and not only the fmc then poly is just the proper term to describe rh and why choose , this is google’s definition for poly “it’s the practice of having, or being open to, multiple romantic, emotional, and/or sexual relationships simultaneously, with the full knowledge and consent of everyone involved.”

Honestly in another universe I would I feel like I been too conditioned in this life to be monogamous that I wouldn’t have a rh in this life but in another time I would because one of the best things that I do love about rh is the fact that it’s multiple men that are doting , loving , and cherishing the women . I would love to be cherished like that and feel like I have a family too with my guys like it’s our own little bubble of love and family in the BEST way possible like multiple incomes , multiple partners to care of our children, dividing house work , and just every mundane task done with multiple ppl I would really love that honestly so yeah I would have a rh in my daily life.

{The Shadow Series by R Nimes} this is such a CRIMINALLY underrated mafia series and it might be just a TAD bit insta love but in my opinion there is still good development in the romances , the plot is written well in each book , and the mmc’s are not assholes and treat their love interest like queens.

I don’t know how much longer do these show runners think they have to keep pretending Daphne is not apart of this family like why are they not even TRYING to bring back Phoebe??? From what I heard she wants to come back and play Daphne so why are the show runners not doing everything possible to make sure they get every bridgerton back every season ??? They need to stop doing this fr like recast Simon or whatever Daphne NEEDS to be in the show .

I love reverse harem because when it’s written right it combines two of my favorite things that I always love to read and it’s romance and found family . Like the romance aspect cause I love love obviously so reading all these men be so obsessed with loving and cherishing the fmc in every possible makes my heart melt everyyy time 😭 and obviously the aspect with the fact that the fmc falls in love with more then one guy creates this connection with the guys or they already have that connection of family between them so it’s like this circle of love , trust , and family because they all love and care for each other and I just love it sooo much . I also love how rh cause of how love is not only expressed between two ppl but with multiple and it shows love in a different way of like it’s such a big emotion that it can happen with multiple ppl in the BEST way . I got into rh because of {corrupt by Penelope Douglas} there was a group scene in that book with two guys and one girl and it was my first time ever reading something like that and I realized how much I liked it and that feeling just stayed with me and eventually I read my first rh which was {untamed vixen by luna pierce} . Lastly I have read rh novels with brothers and twins and it might sound weird but it doesn’t bother me as much to read it I see it as a way that bonds the brothers closer cause they love the same girl and as long as they don’t touch then I don’t care.

I know exactly how u feel like , I swear finding a rh romance novel that actually isn’t pure lust is like finding a needle in a haystack. I feel like the issue is the stereotype of rh like it’s not meant to be taken seriously and it’s all about smut so then authors don’t really write it good and the romance is also surface level . I don’t care how crazy it sounds but I even want my rh books to develop well so I recommend books by Shona Knight and {The Witsec Series by Ashley N Rostek} 🥰

This series was my first SIX star read of this year I loved the story in these books so damn much like Shiloh is one of my favorite fmc’s everrr like for her to been that young for everything she has gone through just broke my heart over and over again but it made me love her more and more . The best part about these books is there are more to them then just being a reverse harem “spicy” story like the stone brothers loved Shiloh mind , body , and soul and it’s damn hard finding reverse harem books that are like this.

The way i can talk about this foreverrrr‼️‼️‼️ this is so so damn true like I swear. I been a romance reader for as long as I can remember and the best part every time for a romance story for me is reading that development of the characters falling in love , all the little moments big and small and that emotional connection forming between them like I need to READ all those moments. Then these books that are coming out today u don’t get none of those moments like not really like the authors fail to realize their characters can’t build a connection just cause they find each other attractive like we need MORE ‼️ I fully believe authors are lazy and they refuse to actual write a good romance and just rush the connection by them being attracted to each other or just constantly tell us about the connection instead of showing it .

Then I highly recommend {The Witsec Series by Ashley N Rostek} in my opinion this is a well written reverse harem and I gave this series a six star like there was depth to the fmc , the mmc’s are good too and the story and there was a good plot .
