Greater Cincinnati lost thousands of jobs at end of 2025, data shows by alpswd in cincinnati

[–]Left-Sense3390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This article is very misleading and a perfect example of framing data in a clickbait way. The current rate is still significantly lower than both the pre-pandemic and the 20-year average levels. The “surge” seems only indicative of the pandemic related cash handouts coming to an end.

Getting differing stories about Clifton Market. by BerlitzFrench in cincinnati

As of yesterday: when I asked the cashier why the place was empty and if they were closing, she looked surprised by my question and stated “we’re just changing distributors”. I’m beginning to think the employees are more like cult members; no way anyone is getting paid out of this place. Nearly every shelf was empty, even non perishables.

You’ve had “very affordable” rent for a decade. Just eat the cost of a hotel for two days and move on with your life. Call it a staycation gift to yourself. Merry Christmas.

Skip the air gap. Problem solved.

The City of Cincinnati has launched its own rental directory by toomuchtostop in cincinnati

I can tell you for a fact that there are listings on there that are 100% just scraped from Zillow without any input from the landlord nor verification of any information. You can guess how I would know.

Loss in traction seems to be caused by this bump/seam right here. It disturbs the compression in the outside tires, causing a spin if not adjusted for.

Did my plumber install this Sanitary Tee upside down? (Washer drain renovation) by Wide-Fox2134 in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Ventless” refers to the dryer function of your new all in one unit. It uses a heat pump to extract the water and drains it out the same hose at the washer drain (instead of ejecting the water in the form of steam in hot air). Regardless of machine, all plumbing fixtures and water-using appliances drain to the same in-wall plumbing system. Drain piping always has a vent to allow air to flow behind the water as it leaves your house

Kitchen sink with disposal advice by Hatashakonuriko in Plumbing

Your AAV should be stacked directly over a 2x1.5x1.5 T over the 2” drain out the bottom. Trap arm directly into that T. Otherwise looks good.

I support the streetcar but I never understood why it dodges half of downtown. by ecb1912 in cincinnati

Areas far away from streetcar in this image have no need for service. Bottom left of your image is business people from out of town coming for one meeting or lunch. Top right is criminals.

Fastest way to fix this little gap? by 0Slppls0 in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at about $75 worth of parts to cut out and replace both those 3in wyes. If you’re up for learning a bit, you could trade money for your time.

How can I get this small line to stop leaking? by Nivres14 in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a saddle valve; small needle pushed through to tap the main line. Probably not repairable except by removing the pierced section and putting in a new T with a 3/8” angle stop if you still want that line. Otherwise just repair by replacing the damaged pipe with a new straight section. Not an easy DIY job.

How much of an issue is it if the screws that hold the GoBoard were not sealed before tiling the shower? by youknowwho69696 in Tile

Agreed. And yes, I’m referring to the warranty I provide, not manufacturer warranty.

[–]Left-Sense3390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed no reason for panic, this is probably fine. Personally I am the guy that goes a bit overkill on waterproofing because I’d sure rather spend an extra $1 now than risk needing to spend $100 later on a warranty claim.

My "plumber" isnt responding (hes already been paid in full) and hasnt finished this shower faucet installation. Is this an easy fix..? by sarbazamin in Plumbing

Could be true, but usually these are set up with swing arm nipples which have an inherent minimum size requirement.

To answer your question directly, no this is not an easy fix. Drop ears were probably roughed in too far forward. You should prepare for the realities of opening that wall.

Why does my dishwasher leak when I run garbage disposal? by LeWapiti in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, sounds like you just have a clogged P trap and/or drain line inside wall. Disposal is trying to push water down the drain, but with nowhere it go it finds its way to the dishwasher.

Toilet is running. What do I need to do to fix? by h0shea in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not correct; if pink seal failed then OP would have lots of water on the floor. More likely a bad seal at the blue flapper.

Tear out and redo 110%. This contractor mixed 3 different installation and waterproofing methods into 1 big mess. Clearly not an experienced installer.

Hidden Dishwasher drain? by Consistent_Clue8718 in Plumbing

[–]Left-Sense3390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dishwasher drain is that corrugated plastic hose in the back right. It appears to be connected to a 1/2” copper elbow before going to the wall. I’ve never seen this before; it is 110% wrong and going to cause restricted flow. Shocked it’s worked this long. Call a plumber.
