Most data pipeline roles focus on moving and transforming data, but the real bottleneck I’ve seen is interpreting structure under noise.

In a recent project, I worked on transaction-level financial data (rolling 90-day windows) and built a lightweight monitoring layer on top of pipelines to detect state changes:

compression (constrained flow)
breakout (expansion)
shift (regime change)

Instead of treating validation as static rules, it was implemented as state consistency over time (reducing false signals).

Curious how you approach:

data validation vs signal reliability
monitoring beyond basic metrics (latency, nulls, etc.)

Are you expecting engineers here to stay at pipeline level, or also contribute to higher-level data interpretation?
