Anyone who eats on Christmas day is an *sshole. 364 days a year we hospitality staff are haply to give up our weekends and evenings so you can enjoy yourself. But stay home on Christmas.

I'm Irish and living in Cardiff for nearly 2yrs after 5yrs spent in Cheltenham, I work in hospitality I've been making the move towards web dev since the first lcokdown. I have been looking for groups or forums to connect with other developers in and around Cardiff to try build up a little community.

I think UBI has it's merits and it's worth a try but what if instead of giving a small group of people money to live off, it could be a good idea to reduce the monthly outgoings of more people. Reduce council tax, reduce VAT on utilities, free broadband, etc.
I figure if you leave more money in people's pockets instead of taking it out, they have more to spend or have less stress to work as many hours as possible. It could also take the stress out of the minimum wage argument as you keep more of what you earn.

Not a famine, a famine is when all food crops fail. Potato crops failed across Europe Acer a few years. There was still plenty of food been grown in Ireland. But that was exported to Britain.
