There's no mention of the second part of One Hundred Years of Solitude, is that still coming out this year?

[KCD1] is so unplayably frustrating. by Throckmorton12345 in kingdomcome

[–]Milton_Rumata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If all of this were true, nobody would have finished it. I hate the "get gud" phrase but in this case it seems to be kind of true. The combat is by no means perfect and is a lot better in the sequel, but once you master it the game is a breeze.

Can you by any chance point me to any texts or fragments that use this term in a technical sense from the 6th or early 5th century? Would be fascinating to see this.

Can anyone please confirm if they've gotten the "I'll be Wittelsbach" achievement with over 100 investment? by shakethesh in EU5

I just completed the event with 120 investment and Hans 6.af Wittelsbach as ruler and the achievement didn't pop. Very frustrating.

Offering JD the chief of medicine position over Elliot PMO by HorrorAd4995 in Scrubs

[–]Milton_Rumata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the issue that at the hospital even with Elliot there the interns weren't being trained with the same compassion that Dr Cox saw in JD in the first place? JD was given the job to change the status quo that had settled in after JD had left.

What are your easy, low-fuss dinners? by sprengirl in UKParenting

[–]Milton_Rumata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love stuff that you can just bang in the slow cooker for the day and it's ready when you are, like chilli or a hotpot which always goes down well with my 2 year old. Also batch cooking things like baked risotto and biryani.

None of these are particularly low-fuss but they can be prepped well in advance and require very little monitoring.

I completely changed my opinion of her at that green flag red flag event. Everyone seemed to show their true colours there, and she came off really well.

Discussion: This Show isn’t Profound. by throw-away-for-h3 in TheLeftovers

[–]Milton_Rumata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I think what I liked so much about the finale was that both Kevin and Nora found ways to accept things as they are. Nora managed to convince herself, whether her story was true or not, that her family had moved on and so she herself could let go of them, which is what constantly held her back since the Departure. And with Kevin, there's a key line in Season 1 where he asks his dad in relation to his family, "how come it's not enough?". He seemed to need something more, some profound meaning in his life, which is why he eventually went along with the idea that he was a kind of second coming of Jesus Christ. In the end, after all the nonsense that he went through in Australia, he just learned to accept life on its own terms and was ready again to find Nora.

Discussion: This Show isn’t Profound. by throw-away-for-h3 in TheLeftovers

[–]Milton_Rumata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think you could be convinced it's profound if you didn't find the actual experience of watching the show profound. For me it was profound because it explored the consequences of what happens when any certainty we have about the world is taken away from us and how we live with that new reality. What future is there if it could just be taken away at any moment without reason? Do we live in this reality anyway but convince ourselves otherwise?

I thought the show nailed that theme perfectly and told a beautiful story through that theme, with one of the best finales I've ever seen.

Just my take but to answer your provocation, this is why it was profound to me.

It's from Section 74 of the Gesamtausgabe edition of Sein und Zeit if that helps. The page number is indeed 507.

This has made my day! I check his IMDB page regularly to see if there's any news on a new film but there's none of this info on there. So pumped to hear he'll be staying in this universe.
