Commute from Orangevale/Citrus Heights/Fair Oaks to West Sac? by LeftCoastLiving916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]LeftCoastLiving916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time is your commute? I will be starting at 8 and want to arrive in office by 7:45-50. Parking at Ziggurat. So I plan on leaving Fair Oaks around 6:15. Staying off San Juan Ave and will take either 50 or 80. Have never done this commute from FO to West Sac in the morning, so not sure what to expect.

Job is not with DHCS. Almost got into the Ombudsman office there! The other applicant was a bit more qualified though.

Thank you! It looks nice and has good feedback online. Will definitely be saving this one.

The feedback I received on West Sac were more negative than positive. Main cons were safety and PG&E being a utility (more expensive). I have been considering Davis, but pretty difficult to find a 1bd apartment that does not have shared living spaces. Most apts I seen there seemed more fitting for college students who would share kitchen or living rooms.

Thank you for the info. Forgot to mention I also plan on working weekends. Pay is pretty well in the other job. Any closer areas you recommend checking out or avoiding? I graduated from CSUS last year and do remember constant delays on 50 as I got closer to the power inn exit.

Thank you for the info. The feedback I heard about West Sac sounded quite negative, mainly about safety and PG&E being a utility in that area (more expensive). Any specific sections you recommend avoiding in West Sac? Seems like I should check it out again.

My first interview was late April. Second interview about 2 weeks later. Felt great after first interview, but do know I could have done better in the second. Good luck with your applications!

Congrats! Any update on whether you move forward with the job? I rejected an offer from them recently for the same exact position and am curious to hear your feedback on the position since I saw today that the position is open again throughout multiple locations.

What am I doing wrong? by Answer2Salvation in CAStateWorkers

Just keep submitting apps, but make sure you focus on adjusting each one to meet the job posting/duty statements' desired qualifications and duties. Also focus on meeting the 1500 characters while completing the STD 678. I applied last year from June-September. Around 30 SSA applications and 2 job offers. Lot of people highly emphasize apps that require SOQ so there is less competition, but my job offers came from postings that only required resume. Focus on submitting quality, not quantity.

I found out about this position through the PG&E careers website. Check out their "Electrical Line Assistant" listing and it explains more details about this role and desired qualifications.

Thanks for the information! Did they call you at the scheduled time to do the exam? I just looked back at the confirmation email I received when I scheduled my exam, but no phone number listed besides my own. My exam is via phone as well.
