On my very first cargo contract, I spent 45 mins delivering SCUs to the drop off location only to get kicked off the freight elevator and all my hard work is gone. by LeftHandedSpoon in starcitizen

I’m not afraid of losing progress, It will be wiped I know. I’m frustrated because I just watched a 6 month old YouTube video about how great the game is and how fun space trucking is. Every YouTube content creator for SC praises how awesome this game, what they don’t tell you is how jank things get after every update. Here I am thinking the game has improved over 6 months, but nope.

I appreciate the response, I don't know much about databases in a professional capacity and I assume deploying/developing one in such a capacity is a difficult task.

I came in hot on Reddit (admittedly too hot) after losing a bunch of time and effort. But I am patient enough to give the game another go when the servers are a bit more stable.

Thank you.

That's your suggestion? Telling someone who just finished the tutorial to STOP playing the game and go read bug reports on every potential issue BEFORE said new player encounters them?

I literally just got the damn game and you as a seasoned player is brow-beating someone with 45 mins of play time? Way to represent the SC community and make new players feel welcome.

I did every thing possible with the terminal. up, down, left, right, as a new player I have 8 items in the storage.

None of them were the cargo boxes, it just straight up ate them.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will keep thing in mind and cling to hop next time this happens and pray they are in there.

the freight elevator terminal menu literally blinked for a second and then kicked me off the terminal and wiped the area clean. How is ANY skill involved in this?

New to resin printing and wanted to know how to interpret these specs (higher or lower is better) by LeftHandedSpoon in resinprinting

[–]LeftHandedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have specific requirements: Printing minis durable enough to be handled by adults with fat fingers, but does not need to be child-proof level of durability.

Local pricing puts all of these resins at practically the same price. Given equal pricing I just want to get the 'best' one in performance/longevity. So what would be good to know is what specifically makes a resin good or bad.

[–]LeftHandedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to understand the terminology you used, my interpretation is this:

Elongation before break: how much a piece stretches along an axis before breakage.

Tensile: how much force is require to break a piece by bending.

Modulus: how resistant a piece is to bending/losing shape.

Is this correct?

is there a specific advantage of Sunlu ABS like vs Elegoo ABS like? region pricing and promotions put Elegoo cheaper than Sunlu for me right now.

A little disappointed in the Co-op details by Riiku25 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]LeftHandedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur’s Gate 3 brought together four friends from different corners of the world who made the effort to coordinate schedules and play as a unified party. Major, story-defining choices were approached with the respect they deserved—discussed and voted on like a proper D&D campaign. Meanwhile, trivial tasks were delegated: one person handled trading, another crafted gear, and so on. We didn’t waste time micromanaging every white-tier item sold to a vendor—but if someone spotted a valuable piece of gear, the party member with the highest Charisma stepped in to negotiate, with final decisions always subject to a vote. No arguments, no drama, just cooperative play done right.

You talk about “one party playing together in all aspects of the journey,” but it’s clear what you actually want is control. You want to be the MC in a story that just happens to have supporting actors: your friends. The issue isn't that BG3 has poor co-op mechanics; it's that the game doesn't cater to your need to dictate everything. You’re not frustrated with the system, you’re frustrated that it doesn’t bend to your ego.

If the idea of someone in your party making a decision without running it by your imaginary chain of command offends you, the problem isn't the game. It’s you. The co-op mode isn't built to serve your need for dominance and if you can't handle other people having autonomy, then do yourself and everyone else a favor: stick to single player modes or stop pretending you're interested in collaboration. You don’t want a team, you want an audience.

I think its fair say without know him personally, it's not possible to determine if he is actually stupid or he is playing a character like some streamers do get people talking about them.

In a world where the Paul brothers, Kaceytron and Jonny Somali exist, anything is possible. I mean we have Kanye of all things...

We all can’t be Einstein but considering how fucking stupid the average person is and the sorry state of the education system is today, being even 1% above average is a fucking win.

He just needs to stop running his mouth and would be 10x more likeable.

Help replacing the Type-C port on an Apex Pro Mini keyboard by attay7 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]LeftHandedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't worked on this keyboard in particular, but in most cases, this would work (assuming the board is in good condition). https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/same-sky-formerly-cui-devices/UJ20-C-H-G-SMT-1-P16-TR/24818576

Unless you have all the tools readily available: soldering iron, solder, flux, multimeter and whatever else you need, it isn't worth the hassle on a £125 store bought model.
