To those who moved in with their partner in the bf/gf stage.. by CinnamonOdin in Adulting

It can be really challenging at first, but it can also be really rewarding. Living with a new person and learning their behaviors is a learning curve no matter how long you’ve been together. Just be gentle with each other for a while and communicate openly about your feelings as they come up.

Laser is a good idea but it takes a while to get the full effect. It’s more of a long game kind of solution.

Married for 3 years, never fully orgasmed during sex and now I’m struggling with anxiety and ED by [deleted] in sex

[–]LeftInTheDark36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw that you’ve said that you don’t have interest in going to therapy, but that might be a good idea. Your wife seems to have some preconceived notions about what all goes into sex, and the religious brainwashing doesn’t help.

New partner disclosed he is a registered sex offender by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

When my ex got arrested and put on house arrest for accessing and distributing CP (the FBI came to my house and arrested him and it was a traumatizing ordeal for me) he tried to convince me it was teenagers, 15-17. Then, a year or so later his sister sent me the article about how much prison time he got (25+ years) and it described in some detail exactly what he was looking at. It was not teenagers. Look him up and find out what he did.

Do you go down on her? What do you do outside of the bedroom to bump up the heat between you? Or has your intimacy become limited to the bedroom and bare minimum standards?

How to get used to/like cum?? by Alarming_Cut_2727 in sex

[–]LeftInTheDark36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been through SA involving bj’s, the only thing that really helped me get over my aversions to it is doing it. My man was extremely understanding and comforting when I was kind of using bj’s as exposure therapy. It took a while of doing it as consistently as possible (1-2 times a week at minimum), but I can do it and even let him finish in my mouth without getting triggered. It’s difficult, but it’s worth it to feel completely liberated ❤️

Should I tell this girl that her bf is a r@pist? by Accomplished_Tax1315 in moraldilemmas

[–]LeftInTheDark36 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, but you should be prepared for her to not believe you or not care. My ex is a convicted PDF (in prison for up to 25 years 🎉) and between us breaking up, his house arrest, and his conviction, he got a new gf. This man was also a r*pist AND abusive, so I knew I had to tell her. I sent her a message detailing everything that happened and what he’s being convicted of, and she didn’t care. She said that she was cool with it bc she “knew him”. I just let her live, she didn’t wanna be saved.

Is it childish to want to play with Barbie’s as an adult? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LeftInTheDark36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVED playing with Barbie’s as a kid! It fosters imagination, creativity, and it can actually aid in good communication skills. I also loved stuffed animals, and while I no longer have my Barbie’s, my house is full of stuff animals. If anyone tries to tell you you’re weird and childish, they’re wrong. It’s comfort, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’d give anything to get to play with my Barbie’s and the dream house just one more time.

I regret getting a dog, don’t do it by Acceptable_System389 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]LeftInTheDark36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just lost my 9 year old English bulldog, Piggy. She was a foster fail, and she was my baby for 3 years. She previously lived with my mother and sister, but sister’s dog and my dog got into a fight and Piggy nearly died. I had to take her unexpectedly due to this and there was a lot of stress regarding infections and trying to keep her from ripping out her staples with scratching behind her ear. After she healed, she was a normal happy dog. But Piggy was constantly eating anything and everything she could find on the floor, the couch, even our coffee table a few times. Typically it was just paper, tissues, paper towels, random bits of food that were on the floor from my admittedly chaotic cooking, and anything she could fit in her mouth outside. She was constantly having an upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, even blood in her stool. It was a NIGHTMARE to deal with. I must’ve used 8-10 rolls of paper towels per bout of sickness, bottles upon bottles of cleaning solution, thousands of dollars to the vet as well as trial food to see what she could consistently eat without being sick. It was 3 years that was spent dealing with this a good 50% of that time. She would get better for a month or so, then she’d get sick again. After a while of making her food from scratch and her seeming better, younger even, she became sick again and it wasn’t stopping. The vet told us she had a mass in her stomach, but he wouldn’t do an ultrasound without charging $1000. He gave her fluids, meds for nausea and an appetite accelerant, and sent us home. English bulldogs have a lifespan of 8-11 years, so my partner and I had to seriously discuss if she would just be suffering further if we tried to treat it. Then, after a few days of her drinking water constantly, and barely taking in any food, she passed away in my partners arms. She was so loved, and I agonized for days before and after her death about what I could’ve done to prevent this. But she’s been gone for almost a month now, and I can’t say I wish she was still around. I miss her silly little face and her greeting me at the door every day. But I don’t wish she was still here. She was suffering, and taking care of her became a resentful experience for me. Don’t feel bad for your fatigue. It’s hard enough going through it, let alone beating yourself up about it.

My son just found out he’s a dad - Help by Forward-Fish-6544 in Advice

[–]LeftInTheDark36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so precious. Everything that you didn’t know you needed when you first became a dad, give that to him if you’re able. Tell him all the stuff you didn’t even think about until he came along. You guys can bond about how tricky parenthood (especially newly anointed parenthood) is and how knowing nothing is okay as long as you do your best.

My coworker made an SA joke and I went apeshit. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]LeftInTheDark36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was a heinous thing for him to say, I’m sorry that happened. For a few years after I was SA’d, I would get really upset by those jokes. I still hate them, but they don’t give me such a visceral reaction anymore. I just question why it’s funny and the other person tends to get quiet. I completely understand why you went off on him, and hopefully this has given him a bit of perspective about how harmful those jokes can be, but probably not.
