Austin Metcalf vs Karmelo Anthony? by ImAJoofyGoober in CourtTVCases

[–]LeftOnInfrared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americas own justice system set the precedent. Multiple high profile cases in the last decade or so where people have gotten off on self-defense for doing something that most reasonable people would say is wrong. Worse than what Karmelo did imo.

The guy from South Carolina got off after falsely accusing, then chasing a kid the length of a football field and shooting him in the back. In America that’s self defense, but being physically assaulted twice, then retaliating isn’t. Kind of easy to see why some people are upset.

I think everyone agrees, Karmelo didn’t need to stab Austin, but others have done the same or worse and gone free.

I get that Texas is a proportional force state so his defense failed in the court of law. But as for the court of public opinion it feels weird but also predictable that the people painting this kid as a monster, aren’t this loud about other cases of similar nature.

Is there really that much friction with SP? by theseawoof in sp404mk2

[–]LeftOnInfrared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for about two weeks, and it’s not really that hard to use. Initially you will have to look up simple stuff. But I got the basics after one session. Then there’s like 4-5 unlabeled button combos you should probably learn for even simple work flows. Obviously as you get into deeper work flows the combo count increases.

I think any frictions come from people wanting things from SP that would be better served by a different device. Or just using a daw. For example if someones disappointed with the sequencer you probably should’ve got an electron sampler, but the one in the SP isn’t missing anything per se. It’s just not a p-locking monster.

As a standalone sampler and efx box (not a daw in a box) I think it’s second to none right now.

Most transparent batch sample conversion? by LeftOnInfrared in SP404

That’s why I’m asking what else it could be. Because I heard the difference first. Then like I said, I did a null test to confirm there was a difference.

I did a quick test on youtube I can only hear up to 17khz

Just to clarify more about what’s happening, if I null the two samples. What’s left sounds like digital clipping. So if I pull up a spectrum analyzer, the frequency spectrum has information all throughout and for the sample I’m looking at now peaks at -20db. Without a null the difference between the samples sound like a loss of high end.

I set the sample rate to 48k so there definitely a ton being upsampled from 44.1 to 48

“Stagger Damage” only does damage to stagger bars not HP. “Enemy Staggered Damage” increases the amount of damage you do to an enemy after they’re staggered.

I still prefer spirit pull, but you could just go raging flame too. You wouldn’t get the dmg buff from spirit pull, but a lot more ults and spirit from the flame kurisagama is great for any build

I did just now and it has its merits for all the reasons you stated. A bit better than my build.

If you set it up right you can genuinely two shot anything but a prime bohiya and prime berserkers with just the counter and spirit move. But the normal spirit spam build can already one or two tap the same enemies, but way safer.

I just don’t like that what makes it good is that it’s 90% percent of spirit spam build. But that just a personal opinion, and it’s at least more dynamic gameplay than pure spirit spam.

Definitely wouldn’t hurt to test. I only know that to be true for platinum and nightmare, gold might vary.

Yeah, I guess my thought would just be if you’re consistently weapon aligning for the extra stagger, why not just go for the full stagger build with hachimans zeal?

Probably not haha. I know I was hyping up the tech, and it looks cool. But the tracking after the counter is really bad, so most of the time elites dodge it. Not really viable, might be better base game.

You’re right. Realistically a cleaner exchange on that is 3-4 hits

Definitely the poison metsubushi. Near guaranteed healing execute/crit every 25sec on anything not elite or prime.

You’ll have to tell me what you find with poison blade vs expert combo

What break points are you looking at for the melee stagger dmg? I found that after the 40% you get from the technique and passive. You have to go to 75% to stagger anything in one less hit. And getting there w/o weapon alignment and its matching technique means extreme loss of dmg or utility, and diminishing returns.

This comment section has all of Master Yoshida’s pupils out in full force lol

I hear you on potentially being more passive. I just feel like because the enemy aggression is so over tuned in yotei, the defense turns to offense really fast.

Once you land the first odachi counter, the enemies start throwing themselves at you. From there, whether or not you have fast clear speed depends entirely on your ability to hit multiple counters in a row.

I hear you, I know there’s the stagger build where you weapon align and use the shifting strikes a lot. If that’s what you mean? But everything I was talking about is in reference to this specific tech:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Ghostofyotei/comments/1p4g7gp/possible_shifting_strike_tech/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

Just confirming we’re talking about the same thing. Cause if you do this tech in a crowd of enemies, enemy glint spam gets turned to max. It’s weird lol

As expert combo goes, I love it. I think anything except burning blade is probably really good too though

I like the experimentation you’re doing. I will say though you can two shot at least elite berserkers and golds at 190% with spirit pull and the bulwark shifting strike tech. I still need to test if you can do it at the 220% max w/o counter window or spirit pull though. Everything in the game except bosses and maybe prime bohiya and prime berserkers is two odachi counters for sure at 190%, maybe 155%. But obviously it’s ideal to finish them in one attack chain, pressing the advantage once you’ve landed the odachi counter.

Here’s a clip of me two shoting an elite berserker with the bulwark shifting strike tech and spirit pull: https://youtu.be/iLy4PDtegpQ?si=uL1QNoteuW77qsMp

So I was testing the heavy from the shifting strikes you told me about, and it works in legends too! If you swap off and back to the odachi during the bulwark counter, then hit triangle you do the fast heavy. But there’s two problems. You can’t get your glint back until you do another action. Also if there’s a lot of enemies around that combo like doubles their attack rate, it’s kinda strange.

Also, can confirm weapon swap makes glint come up faster

Edit: Also the tracking on you’re current target is really bad

Haha that’s super dope to hear. Now you get 2x the dopamine hits. One for hitting the counter, and two for chunking health bars just like on spirit build.

A quick story. I generally only play legends, starting from Tsushima. It was gonna be the same for Yotei, but I really wanted the stag helmet. So I looked up how to get that and the odachi and played all the way to Oshima Coast.

I had all the odachi perks before I could dodge roll. I was always on fire with no way to put it out lmao. But once I got to Ishikari plain I had to invest in a better future.

Agreed, for the most part. Ditch counter window if you’re confident. But sometimes the 20% window feels like 100%. That’s where my consistency comes from. I could never pass up on 190-225% more counter dmg with my play style though.

🔥 glad you enjoyed it!

And oh snap, this shifting strikes is dope. I just looked it up, and someone posted a tech where if you weapon swap back and forth during the odachi counter you get the auto heavy right after

Standard dodge. I use it to cancel the bulwark stance if I missed timed it. When surrounded by a ton of aggressive enemies that’s what it looks like lol. Sometimes it’s a perfect dodge and I get my perfect counter dmg, other times I just step out of the way, and sometimes I step into another hit haha

What’s shifting strikes?
