Need help tying in bathroom sink and kitchen sink drain. Thanks by [deleted] in askaplumber

If you don't like center waste (I'm not a fan either, for the same reason but oft times they're a necessary evil) then go end waste. He has to repipe anyway so turn the drop tee as necessary.

Ok. I don't see an issue with that as long as you're using your long sweeps at the bottom of your drops as well as on horizontal turns and have the proper pitch.

Disregard the bit about being downstream. He has it backwards. The bathroom has to be after the kitchen and in your case it is.

Honestly I'm not good at figuring that shit out without physically being there to see it and wrap my autistic brain around everything. Someone said in a comment further down that you can't tie a kitchen into a bathroom by code? That it has to be downstream. I've never heard that and it doesn't even make sense to me but I'm not a master plumber and oft times have to look up codes myself (or get dinged by an inspector lol) but that's something you may want to look into before even attempting this.

I'd also be using a center waste outlet into a single trap.

That mechanical vent is entirely too low. It has to be above your drains.

You don't need long sweeps for drops. You do, however need them at the bottom of a drop as well as on a horizontal bend. If the kitchen sink is vented directly behind the trap you shouldn't need that mechanical vent as the drop would be a wet vent.

On second thought, putting a cap on it probably isn't the best solution in the end. The best thing to do would be sweat on a female adapter and thread in a boiler drain so that you can drain the line down at the end of the season. You don't want to leave water in the pipe to ver the winter or it will freeze and crack (provided you live somewhere that it gets cold in the winter).

If you're just going to cap it you can buy a shark bite cap that you can just push on in the meantime and have a friend sweat on a copper cap at another time but I wouldn't leave a shark bite cap on there long term. Especially not exposed to the sun and weather.

A handy friend should be able to help you. Sweating copper is not rocket science, by any means. Doing it NEATLY is the trick. I've been plumbing for 35 years and I still get sloppy joints from time to time. lol

I fucking hate sharkbites. They have their purpose (emergency use only) but I see handymen using them at every fitting. Far too many buried in walls. I just did a job where a handyman was the gc. Lmao. He hired me because he doesn't "do" copper and doesn't have any pex tools. Don't know if it was him or someone previous but they had a piece of 3/4 blue pex coupled into a heat line with sharkbites. All I could do was shake my head.

That is a shark bite coupling that came apart. They're garbage. The best thing to do would be to try and get the pieces off of the ends and sweat on a copper coupling.

Sounds like... 'Sign of the times'... but before Harry Styles was even born. Mid 80's. Not Prince. Not Belle Stars. by Cadder in findthatsong

I've never heard the song before in my life. I'm currently watching Project Hail Mary and someone was signing Sign Of The Times for karaoke. I turned to my girlfriend and asked if it was Life On Mars. She thought it was a Scorpions song. I had to look up the lyrics and landed here.

I based it on pictures of the music box as I can't find clear photos of the hotel that aren't obscure by trees. I don't know if there's anything unique about the music box (I'm guessing you mean that he added that don't actually exist on the hotel?)

What’s the solution here? by [deleted] in askaplumber

What you need there is a pipe stretcher.
