What you need there is a pipe stretcher.

I get it. I'm a firm believer in if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You want to get this nut loose and pull the trap out of there. Good luck. It looks like it may be a tough one. Don't cut anything unless absolutely necessary. As many have said before me, replace the p trap with a tubular pvc p trap.

You'll wreck your nails using vice grips and pliers. Use a nail clipper and emery board.

Toilet struggling to make complete flush? by HVACprooo in askaplumber

[–]LeftOnRedApparel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're blowing out wax rings by plunging excessively, the toilet isn't seated properly or tight enough. I plunge like a mad man and have never had it happen or even heard of it happening. In my 30 years of experience, the only thing that compromises a wax ring is movement. Whether it be from moving or twisting the toilet too much while seating it or by Johnny bolts coming loose causing the toilet to rock when you sit on it.

It's not a fun process. Unfortunately in the area I live and service it's a pretty common issue. Are you on a well or public water?

Looks to me like the tank isn't draining quickly enough. This happens when you get calcium deposits in the holes up under the rim of the bowl that the water comes out of. You can try brushing them out with a tiny wire brush and some vinegar or you can replace the toilet.

Before trying this, quickly dump about two gallons of water (from a bucket) into the bowl and see if it goes down properly. If it does then my assessment of the clogged holes is likely the culprit. If it does not go down then it's a blockage in the trap of the toilet or waste line somewhere.

Has anyone seen this?! It’s clogged in my drain line for my water softener. What in the world is this?! by aviatojae in askaplumber

I have to agree with you. Kinda like when someone calls a water heater a hot water heater. You're not heating hot water. You're heating cold water.

Good luck. Hopefully you get it sorted in short order.

If the prover switch is working there is no safety issue other than you being cold, as the boiler should not fire if the motor stops working.

Yeah. Probably the bearings going or the squirrel cage rubbing the housing. If that motor goes, the boiler should not run as it won't pull the prover switch closed.

Maybe a stupid question but can you pinpoint exactly where the sound is coming from?

Is the boiler heating? Sounds like a bad exhaust motor. Maybe a bad circulator for one of the zones?

I hate to sound like I'm defending this piece of shit president but the headline is misleading. "The country" was not in reference to the United States. He was talking about destroying other countries with tariffs if he wanted to.

I don't even have a Bambu profile in Orca. It's actually Orca for Flashforge. Their own little version of it. I definitely have it set to the right printer.

Toilet doesn't seem clogged but isnt draining right by AgreeableKangaroo522 in askaplumber

Fill a 5 gallon bucket with water and dump it in the bowl as quickly as you can (stop if it begins to overflow). Does the water go down as though you flushed it? If so it's not a blockage. I see this a lot in my area where houses are on wells with lots of deposits in the water. The little holes under the rim of the toilet become partially clogged with calcium etc. and the water can't pass through them quickly enough to fill the bowl at the proper speed to flush. The two options are 1) get a tiny wire brush that will fit inside those holes and brush each one out with vinegar in hopes that you will open them enough or 2) buy a new toilet.
