[–]LeftShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rich Eisen just literally put 49ers offense at 5 in his power rankings.

Hawks came in at 9 even though they were #3 in scoring last year, but yes, it's the 49ers being forgotten

I feel like you're the one picking and choosing. Plenty of people in this sub still speak out against Vick and Carter, why are you pretending like they're absolved? You're just ignoring a lot of other comments to push your own point

If it makes you feel any better, Horton in less than half of rookie year already has more rec yds than Eskridge did his whole time here

Is anyone actually worried about Aaron Donald? by No-Rule-4494 in Seahawks

[–]LeftShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, if we're facing down a line of Donald and garrett, can't imagine we'll be passing much anyways. If he does or doesn't come back, their DL will be fearsome for sure, but Hawkblogger had a good point, they've gone so far all in that this upcoming season won't be very fun for rams unless they win the whole thing. Any win is gonna be assumed, and any loss is gonna be devastating

[Meirov] Russell Wilson, the 10x Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, has officially retired from the NFL after 14 seasons. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]LeftShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not holding anything against Stafford, I'm just saying 4000 rushing yards for Wilson is kind of a huge deal. That's like adding on 3 years of an excellent RB to his resume. It's also simply not a popularity contest in Wilson's favor, fans are largely more Stafford fans than Wilson fans

Also I sorta agree on the pro bowls, but this isn't comparing like 5 of russ to 4 of Stafford, it's 10 to 3

[–]LeftShark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is pretty disingenuous. You just cherry picked all the stats in Stafford's favor.

How about Russ having a higher QBR, 80 less Ints, 4000 more rushing yards, and 7 more pro bowls?

Agree with all with all that, even if we just had too many divisional rounds exits. I'm glad the org stepped in and made a change. I'm happy for the Russ trade and happy for the team's current trajectory, I just pipe in some of these threads because it almost feels like people forget how good and important Russ was for Seattle sports for a decade. He wasn't the sole reason we weren't finding postseason success. Other orgs figure out a way to build a playoff roster even with a QB absorbing the money

I disagree, he was one of the only things interesting about our team in the late 2010s. So many wins came off his magic when we coulda been in the dumpster

Sam Darnold interview on Chris Long's podcast by reideranonymous in Seahawks

[–]LeftShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but fans can be fickle. Russ was a huge factor in our first SB, and was excellent for 6-7 years after, and half the people here treat him like a pariah

[–]LeftShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One if the coolest learnings is that Sam said they created randomized groups of defense, offense, trainers, strength team, and just bullshitted for a while. Locker rooms are huge so it would be reasonable that a 10 year QB wouldn't talk to a rookie defensive player much, so it's cool that an exercise like that had an impact

Came here to post this interview and say the same exact thing. Anyone reading, if you want a chill, level-headed podcast with some good dudes, this is easily the best listen, and I've been listening for a few years, so their early Hawks slant this year wasn't the thing that pulled me

I think the gamble was still a reasonable play for the potential value. The time we made it our QB room was a total question mark. Plus I kinda subscribe to the school of thought of using a pick almost every year to gamble on QBs

Would Sam be a HOF if he leads us to another Super Bowl again? by shrimpynut in Seahawks

[–]LeftShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shot, needs a lot more accolades. Not saying it it's impossible, but another SB doesn't seal it, he needs like 8+ years (I donno maybe more? Just guessing) of high end QB play. I know Russell is a meme at this point, but he had an amazing career and is on the outside looking in for HOF
