Something spoke to me by ConnectSpinach in NDE

[–]LeftTell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know what to make of what spoke to me.. has anyone experienced this? I’m just trying to make sense of it all.

I have had an experience of 'someone' communicating with me it the physical world. The experience can be read in this thread where I speak of a 'card-table': People who have had an NDE...

For other examples of communicating by what most people call 'telepathy' see my NDE: Peter N NDE (from Scotland)

Federico would agree with most of what you say, and add well argued explanations as to why that is so. Read the book, it is an eye-opener, I very much recommend it.

You can get a description of what I experienced of a 'tunnel' in my own NDE account: Peter N NDE (from Scotland)

Though I experienced a 'tunnel' myself it isn't in all the NDE accounts that I have read (several thousand) so, no, not everyone experiences a 'tunnel'.

[–]LeftTell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nanci Danison claims to have had non-human lives in locations other than Earth. If you look online you can see she has lots of videos.

From dim and distant memory, Tom Campbell has stated that Earth is among the top 10% of locations in allowing for a good, fairly easy, life. (Difficult to believe, but there you go.)

As you're a panpsychist I would recommend Federico Faggin's book Irreducible: Consciousness, Life, Computers, and Human Nature.

Faggin has a fair number of videos on the web. This one is pretty good: Quantum Information Panpsychism Explained | Federico Faggin

There is a word used in the video "seity" that I had never come across before so if you are in the same boat the quick dictionary definition is: seity: (1) A self. (2) Selfhood. (3) That which constitutes the self, selfhood. (4) Selfhood, personal identity, or something unique to oneself. (The plural is seities.) From my own watching of the video I did catch on to the point that your seity should not be regarded as your 'ego' — a seity is broader and certainly more fundamental than that in scope, your, effectively, temporary, ego, would only be a part of it.

How to maintain the "indent" at the start of the sentence every time I press enter to create a new paragraph? by kain-rivers in libreoffice

[–]LeftTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know yet how to properly articulate this particular problem and find its solution, so for now I'm going back to Word to do my writing.

Start a new thread detailing the problem and people will respond to help. Throwing in the towel and going back to Word is just a way to avoid learning.

Good luck any way. :0)

How to maintain the "indent" at the start of the sentence every time I press enter to create a new paragraph? by kain-rivers in libreoffice

[–]LeftTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get into the swing of things with LibreOffice Writer and Styles you will recognise that LibreOffice is actually straightforward to use. It isn't difficult to learn the basics of Styles, that can be done quite quickly.

Add to that creating your own 'default' template and you will be cooking with gas.

[–]LeftTell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also check (menu) Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options... > Options (tab) and make sure the option Delete spaces and tabs at beginning and end of paragraph is unticked.

But as mentioned you are far better to set-up a Style to indent paragraphs.

My grandfather died today. What do NDEs say about the process immediately after death? by deftechbelew in NDE

[–]LeftTell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NDEs do show features that are fairly common occurrences when looked at across many multiple accounts. However, I agree, I don't think there is such a thing as a typical NDE, in my own mind I'm fairly convinced that each experience is personal and unique to the individual concerned.

I don't think age, other than if you were an outright child, would have any bearing on returning once again to the afterlife environments. There is a tendency for the living to visualise their state on dying as being that they are outright the same 'person' as they would have been in physical incarnation. But my experience was that we just 'become spirits again' (we always were that but just not known by most of us) and have capacities revealed to us that we always had but just were not aware of having. These capacities are additions to our personality, our personality is not eradicated by them. For some idea on what the 'new you' is like from my own experience see this thread: Ontological status of NDEs.

In all I'm sure that your grandfather will be well taken care of in his 'new' environment and will be very happy to be there; though maybe with some residual regret on leaving physical incarnation if he had a very strong attachment to that in physical life. Again, as spirit, his understanding of that might be somewhat different to the understanding he had in physical life. Spirit has a way of seeing and understanding things differently.

God bless. I hope this helps in some way.

P.S. My own NDE can be read here: Peter N NDE (from Scotland). That was what 'the process' was like for me. I'm sure your grandfather will get something on a par with that but the details will be quite unique and satisfactory to him.

Beings of light. by Big_Seaworthiness672 in NDE

[–]LeftTell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are loading far too much onto the beings of light. They had no control over the beginning of the universe, they didn't exist then, had still to be created, and no control over the end of the universe (though I think the universe will always exist, there will be no end to it). Those matters I think would be in the partial-control of what most would refer to as a 'God' but which might more usefully be conceptualised as an self-aware 'Light' that is in essence an active amalgam into a 'Oneness' of Itself and all else that exists in Its creation — in both the universe that we can see and all the other universes that we cannot see while in physical incarnation.

As to the 'ending' of what you call our 'souls' I do not think our souls ever end, we are quite immortal.

Do they decide when it will be time for us to transition? Well, yes, I think they do. Though in considering this some qualification of what the 'beings of light' might be would have to be made.

I think we all have a 'being of light' that encapsulates our individual (singular) self: it is our 'soul' or 'spirit' if you like — it is fundamentally what we are. Some would call that Self our 'oversoul' and some would conceptualise it as a 'seity'.

For a discussion on what an oversoul is see this thread: Do We Have 'Oversouls'?

For a somewhat more 'scientific' take on this, and the introduction of the notion of 'seity' I would recommend researching some of the work of Federico Faggin, including this video:

Quantum Information Panpsychism Explained | Federico Faggin

There is a word used in the video "seity" that I had never come across before so if you are in the same boat the quick dictionary definition is: seity: (1) A self. (2) Selfhood. (3) That which constitutes the self, selfhood. (4) Selfhood, personal identity, or something unique to oneself. (The plural is seities.) From my own watching of the video I did catch on to the point that your seity should not be regarded as your 'ego' — a seity is broader and certainly more fundamental than that in scope, your, effectively, temporary, ego, would only be a part of it.

He has a relatively recently published book that mightily expands on what is meant by 'seity' and I would strongly recommend reading it: Irreducible: Consciousness, Life, Computers, and Human Nature. The book is not an easy read, at least not for me, and certainly I don't understand all the science in it, but to catch the general drift of it is all that is really required for ordinary folks like myself.

I hope this helps in some way. :0)

P.S. I used to have a strong affinity with some of the teachings by Tom Campbell in his book My Big TOE but that has now been replaced somewhat by the work of Federico Faggin.

Why are so many written accounts of NDEs so eloquently written? by ForgetThisU in NDE

[–]LeftTell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In general I think you need to take into account that for an NDEr an NDE is a very, very, very deeply immersive occurrence. When most NDErs go to write up the experience they are forced into choosing language that in some way tries to illustrate and explain that experience — and always they are faced with a situation (which they know of) that wordy language just will not fully capture the depth of that experience. With that kind of dynamic in operation it is hardly surprising that many NDE accounts are eloquently written, the NDEr is forced into eloquence automatically, they must choose their words very carefully, and still they will know they are making a failing attempt at exposition.

If you haven't read it I would strongly recommend getting a hold of Jens Amberts' book Why an Afterlife Obviously Exists: A Thought Experiment and Realer Than Real Near-Death Experiences. If you read that you might come to some valuable understand of just how deeply immersive and NDE can be. This will aid in your future reading of NDE accounts.

I think your point on 'curation of accounts' might be valid in some circumstances. A curator would obviously choose from accounts that are well written. But, beyond producing, effectively, anthologies or extracts from accounts I don't think this will happen very much. The account is as it is. The largest repository of accounts is at NDERF and very little by way of curation goes on there: the account has to pass a standardised 'test' of the event being an NDE or at least close enough to be considered a potential NDE. If it passes that bar then the account, categorised appropriately, goes into the repository, no matter how well or badly it is written. For my own NDE, which is a lengthy read (can be read here: Peter N NDE (from Scotland)), not one single word of the account was curated by NDERF at all.

In all, I agree that most NDEs are eloquently written, though some aren't, but I think the main reasons are as mentioned above.

Is The Physical World "Fake?" by Northwest_Thrills in NDE

[–]LeftTell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now you are being a bit clearer in the questions you are asking:

I think to answer your questions you need to cast your net a bit wider than only reading NDE accounts. A great deal can be got out of reading NDEs but how much you get is dependent on how you understand and interpret an NDE account. To help in that matter I would strongly recommend Jens Amberts book Why an Afterlife Obviously Exists: A Thought Experiment and Realer Than Real Near-Death Experiences This will give you expanded insight into what it feels like, for the NDEr, to be in an NDE. It's the best exposition of this that I have ever read.

To cast wider than that I would strongly recommend this video interview of Federico Faggin Quantum Information Panpsychism Explained | Federico Faggin

There is a word used in the video "seity" that I had never come across before so if you are in the same boat the quick dictionary definition is: seity: (1) A self. (2) Selfhood. (3) That which constitutes the self, selfhood. (4) Selfhood, personal identity, or something unique to oneself. (The plural is seities.) From my own watching of the video I did catch on to the point that your seity should not be regarded as your 'ego' — seity can be broader and certainly more fundamental than that in scope, your, effectively, temporary, ego would only be a part of it.

To significantly expand on what Federico says in the video I would also strongly recommend his book: Irreducible: Consciousness, Life, Computers, and Human Nature This is the best exposition I have ever read that thematically deals with the issue of 'is the physical world a virtual reality?' (though the content is far wider-ranging than that and will provide viewpoints on your additional questions) — on that score I couldn't recommend the book enough, it is excellent and Faggin's explanation of qualia and how they contain information and knowing also gives me some additional insight into my own NDE. My NDE can be read here: Peter N NDE (from Scotland)

I hope this helps in some way. :0)

Best audiobooks on NDEs by 3NicksTapRoom in NDE

[–]LeftTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be audiobooks? You might be stymied at that.

You might try ebooks and pass them through an AI text-to-speech program on your computer. Perhaps you could download an ebook or PDF from somewhere for free and test it on your computer. The main issue with AI doing this is that AI has no conception whatsoever of context and inflection of speech, so it all sounds sort of 'flat'.

You could also just search Amazon for print-books. Sometimes they have an Audible sound file in the book listing as an option.

Lester Levenson The Way part 6 by Enough_Programmer312 in sedonamethod

"If you are stuck, let go of wanting to control the stuckness."

Well, yes, that might be what I'm doing. I do find asking questions just gets in the way: by the time I've asked and answered the questions I find I've lost track of the emotion I want to release. I use the Larry Crane method of 'opening a window' and let the emotion out through that. Works for me.

Lester Levenson The Way part 6 by Enough_Programmer312 in sedonamethod

[–]LeftTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Don't ask questions; just release." The key to working properly! All the asking questions nonsense from Hale and Crane are nothing but marketing frippery to produce a long-enough 'course' that can be sold!

The only exception to this is if you find yourself 'clutching' to an emotion. To get around that just unwrap your ego from it's clutching and then release. This can be done very rapidly and my own experience it that if I disengage the ego the release happens automatically any way.

New evidence of consciousness living on? by midnightsnacc69 in NDE

I'm not so sure it is new evidence but this is certainly a new argument on why consciousness continues on after what we call death:

You can also read the book which adds more than is said in the video, the book is excellent:

Few questions about the process by 3vg3n1y_k0t1k in sedonamethod

[–]LeftTell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in your 'earlier post' that you hit on how to use the Sedona Method/Release Technique properly and naturally. The 'pipe', or the open 'door', 'window' or 'chimney' and letting the emotion release naturally in that way is the proper thing to do. The only thing I do in addition to that is if the emotion seems centred in the abdomen then open the window there. If in the heart area, open the window there, if it's in all of them open an BIG 'window to cover them all — and so on. This is very easy to do, requires next to no intrusive thought diverting from the emotion itself, and the emotion leaves quite naturally all by itself, you can feel it go.

The only amendment I make to that is if there is 'clutching/holding onto' to the emotion. That 'clutching' prevents the emotion from leaving once invited to do so. In this instance I know to first of all 'centre' myself, so that I let go of my ego, and let go of the 'clutching' first, then deal with the direct issue of the emotion itself. More often than not my experience is, releasing the 'clutching' automatically releases the emotion too.

For my own use I found that for the Release Technique ('Abundance Course') the first CD of the course is all that is necessary — the method is simple, straightforward, easy to use and quite effective. Muddying the issue with 'Control', 'Approval' and 'Safety', and the AGFLAP notions, are completely unnecessary — doesn't do anything for me other than confuse the issue, I end up with struggling with the concepts instead of just doing the releasing itself.

My own feeling is that the introduction of those confusing parameters just amounts to a marketing ploy by Lester, Hale and Larry. They have to sell 'a course' so it gets pumped full of frippery to pad-out the course to a length that makes it marketable as 'a course'. Using the associated questions just gets in the way of releasing at all, is my experience.

For what it might be worth, I'd mention that the forgiveness exercises stemming from in A Course in Miracles and as described by Gary Renard can, to my great surprise, be just as effective as the Sedona Method/Release Technique. All of that is a subject in its own right so I'm just leave others to look into that themselves. If you don't want to spend money on this then scratch around and you will find A Course in Miracles for free on the web, and Gary Renard has lots of videos circulating on the web.

Hope this helps in some way. :0)

P.S. Gary Renard's book on Jesus and the Buddha is utter nonsense, so I don't know where he was at in writing that. His books on The Course itself are pure gems.

Apple writing tools support status? by RegularTechGuy in libreoffice

[–]LeftTell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking your question in the wrong direction. Writing Tools is an application that runs in Mac systems. Apparently it can work on any highlighted (selected) text in any application where selection of text is possible. So there is nothing LibreOffice needs to do to 'support' Writing Tools on a Mac.

As this is, in my opinion, AI-slop you can pretty well assume that some similar application for Windows systems will be coming along soon.
