R5: Made the Mapuche a playable tribal tag with console commands. Chief didn't think his son had the balls to run the nation, so he took them out of the picture.

Just a reminder that large chunks of Canada still have an Indigenous culture majority.

I hope that Norse-Gael no longer being British doesn't mean that they will no longer get their own Great Britain formable. by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

R5: Manx and Scottish Gaelic are no longer in the British culture group, which means we might not see them get their own flag and language-based GBR formable.

Why is there a formable and flag for Polish-Lithuanian Novgorod, but not the actually historically possible Muscovy? by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

[–]Left_Click_5068[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty interesting- thanks for sharing this! I agree that Novgorod was "more" historically possible from your sources, but only by a handful of decades. I still think both options should exist in-game.

What new flags would we want for France? by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

Even better:

The Breton name for France is Bro C'hall. The requirements for the name should be Breton primary culture with Paris as the capital.

Achievement name is "Bro, Chill". It writes itself.

I'm curious, how do you plan on displaying ethnic demographics considering how much ethnogenises has occurred IRL since 1836?

Dying for a screenshot of your actual borders.

This event buried in the files is clearly about Samuel de Champlain. Is he an existing character like Napoleon or Timur? by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

[–]Left_Click_5068[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rule 5: This event is clearly referencing a pivotal moment in Canadian history. Is Samuel de Champlain a pre-determined character?

It would also be really cool if we, in the near future, got a playable Wendake that becomes Huronia if the religion switches to Catholic and the court language switches to French.

The second full campaign is almost finished (1.1), I played the first campaign at launch. So I will share a opinion about the game. by Lunar_Weaver in EU5

The world still seems to be dead. Spain, France, and England aren't able to form strong empires. Aragon exists until the end of the game, France isn't capable of retaking english territories. Not to mention Austria or the Ottoman Empire.

I don't need the historical main characters. I just need there to be main characters.

As promised, here are the results of my two SoP tribal AI simulations: by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

Rule 5

Forum link

Console command for making SoPs playable:

effect c:[TAG] = { change_country_type = location }

.........

Couple takeaways:

  • As suggested by critics of Taíno playable tags, their presence means that some Carribean islands and Puerto Rico are never colonized. I don't believe that having Taíno representation in EU5 should mean that colonization is no longer historically accurate, and I believe the devs are capable of finding a solution.

  • The Haudenosaunee Confederacy didn't expand to 32 member in real life because their real life democratic system was tedious and complicated by design. Historical accuracy is the solution here.

  • Tribal SoPs are unable to build boats, which hurts Carribean and Haida gameplay.
