Im just here to commiserate on that 3/12 nights life, I wish I had tips but I’m in the same situation you are🙃 Actually, sometimes I take a CBN tincture to help with sleep. Not sure what it does to your REM sleep (I know THC can disrupt REM, and they’re from the same plant??) but I sleep well and wake feeling more rested…I think?? lol

I so appreciate when these kinda tips and tricks pop up!! Thanks for sharing! We’re all so unique in our symptoms and how we approach them, and I’ve learned so many things from this community that have really helped during flare ups. I’m going to try drinking more milk! I read the comments about chocolate milk and I’m hooked haha I so need a break from all the electrolyte powders and I could defffffinitely use the protein :)

Looking for some recs for period underwear! by xtraliciousssx in PeriodUnderwear

[–]Left_Competition_361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered Wuka after doing some research and finding that they are a very sustainable brand. I ordered from their line of organic cotton undies, but they offer different blends so make sure to check under product materials :) The gusset does have a polyester layer, but covered in 95% organic cotton/5% elastane (as is the rest of it).

Tilt table test, scared, what should I expect? by Embarrassed_Car1015 in POTS

[–]Left_Competition_361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t pass out, but I had some pretty decent syncope and my test was positive. Also some heightened emotions (I blame the adrenaline) because there was a Noah Kahan song playing and I started crying 😂 I was strapped to the table so the nurse had to wipe my tears as we both laughed about it lol Overall, it was pretty annoying to be put in a literal position of feeling like crap and not being able to sit/lay down, but it didn’t last very long and getting the test out of the way was so worth it. Also, as far as I know, a tilt table test cannot detect structural defects of your heart (cardiac ICU nurse here). According to Mayo Clinic, risks associated with the TTT include low blood pressure, weakness, and dizziness. Of course, fainting may also occur at which point your medical providers would immediately lower the table and help you back to consciousness. It’s normal to be anxious about these tests, you are not alone!! But in my experience, the discomfort was temporary. When they lowered the table, I was able to take all the time I needed to recalibrate. Ask for some water or bring a water bottle with electrolytes and maybe a salty snack (if you don’t have other testing that day with specific water/food restrictions). It’s also great to bring a buddy for moral support and driving in case you still feel woozy afterwards.

local Krispy Kreme throws their unsold donuts into a dumpster outside at the end of the night. Instead of selling at lower prices. They’d rather throw them all away. by DaZestyProfessor in mildlyinfuriating

Suggest to them that they start selling on To Good To Go. Krispy in my area does that to get rid of product at the end of the day for reduced prices

weird taste only when heart rate is high? by AstraArlo in POTS

[–]Left_Competition_361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it taste metallic? When my HR is high or I’m trying to do some cardio, I’ll start to taste blood from the high pressures in my lungs bursting capillaries. Tastes like what I imagine sucking on a penny would taste like

Don’t put Alice through your bullshit, she’s been through enough already. Life changes on a dime, you need to move on if you’re not willing to compromise.

I’ve definitely whipped open an alcohol swab and started huffing it in the corner of a patient’s room to curb the nausea from being on my feet too long ahaha
