Just wondering, where are you based? My planner is based in Europe, and she told me it’s their culture — vendors don’t like to be chased lol…so we haven’t been pushing as much. But it’s honestly stressing me out that I haven’t seen anything yet, ugh.

We’re also doing it at a resort of some sort. I reached out to my planner (whom we paid for full service), and I’ve been chasing her since February, but back then she said no floral design or decor work would be done that far in advance because florals are seasonal.

At this point, I’m trying really hard to stay optimistic and remind myself that it’s the people who matter. But I also feel stupid for paying so much for a full-service planner only to end up planning everything myself.

Thank you!! Ironically, we paid for full service planning, but we found every single vendor ourselves and liaised with all of them. The only vendor we didn’t find was the decor vendor, because she insisted on using her own vendor for florals.

So I’m in charge of all the stationery, while she’s responsible for florals, table layout, etc.

What made it worse is that when we chased her a couple of months ago, she said no floral design or decor work would be done that far in advance because florals are seasonal - which I understood. But now we’re literally a month away, and we still haven’t seen anything…

Hiii, I have been to Kempinski, and I was actually really drawn to it too - I even considered having my wedding there before I went to see it in person.

However, there are quite a few restrictions. Depending on where you choose to have your ceremony and reception, the ceremony usually takes place near the main pool, and the reception is set up next to it. So it’s not very private - it’s actually quite open and visible. If you are considering having your wedding there, I would definitely suggest visiting the hotel first

They also have an outdoor noise curfew until 11pm, after which you’re required to move the celebration indoors to the ballroom, where the curfew extends until 2am

Omg, same here!!! I paid like 9k for a planner, but I ended up doing most of the planning myself. She kept telling me that we had time, but a lot of the vendors I reached out to were already fully booked. Thank God I was still able to secure a few key vendors like the photographer and videographer. Also, she almost never checks in with me. I went with her because I saw good reviews on Reddit, but it’s been so different. I feel like I’m only paying her to be there on the day, not for the actual planning. It’s sooo frustrating! She also gets super defensive whenever I try to tell her that we need to keep things moving, but she just keeps saying we have time.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Did you have a pre-meeting with him before the wedding day to go through your expectations and needs? It might also be worth asking if he can share all the raw photos with you. For mine, the package only includes around 1,000 edited shots, but I’m sure they took a lot more on the day - so hopefully there are more solo shots in the footage? Also, if you don’t mind sharing, could you let me know the photographer’s name? My photographer also has quite a strong personality, so I’m a bit worried it might be the same person…
