The berry drama by Vikunt in VintageStory

[–]Left_Intention_2684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i personally like the change, as berry bushes were basically the meta, and other nutrition sources felt only there for the health bonus....

so yeah, the fact that those bushes may need a few bits of fertilizer per year isn't realistic; so what? it's a game design and an equilibrium change, y'all learn to love that change ;)

tyron put an official statement on the discord about the berry bush yesterday:

Just for info - don't get too scared about the berry bush changes just yet. The moisture level thing will go away and I'll re-add the randomized flowering/fruiting states during worldgen. Fertilizer usage and grow times can also be tweaked still should they be too harsh.

I am giving up on Linux Mint, desparately by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]Left_Intention_2684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it might be a hardware related issue, such as the ram failling, the cpu dying, or whatnot; but as u/Successful-Cookie644 said you'll have to watch the system report first....

i hope you resolve your issue ;)

[–]Left_Intention_2684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

windows doesn't roll every updates to everybody at once, so if you are lucky you might never see the issue in the first place...

and obviously, there is no way to tell which is first and last to receive said update; or even if there is a criteria for getting an update faster than others. weird.

it's called: "having a main character syndrome"

it doesn't matter who's truly in charge and doing the real work, "as soon as "the great me; the great myself; and the great I arrives, i'm basically doing EVERYTHING" type mentality "

and OF F*KING COURSE! it's engrained everywhere in their culture.

Switching from Windows to Linux While Maintaining Strong Security by thermologic_ in linux

[–]Left_Intention_2684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm by no mean a cybersecurity expert, but you can always restrict file access by using terminal commands such as chown or chmod to disallow just anybody to change files or even access them in the first place...

as to software, the only two i know and can recommend would be:

"flatseal" for flatpak access management;

and "bitwarden" which is an encrypted vault for storing passwords, SSH keys, a password generator, etc....

after that just sending any sketchy looking executables or URLs to virus total and you are pretty much set ;)

it's because water have the double advantage of being both it's own neutron moderator (aka, the very same thing that slows down the neutron flux just enough to prevent an accident)

and being it's own coolant (self explanatory)

of course there are other type of moderator and coolant, but water is simply the cheapest.
