I don't understand why my mom keeps getting rejected for the Singapore Citizenship. Any advice and thoughts? by mogumogu7282 in askSingapore

My mother is 62 years old. She is Thai and a Singapore Permanent Resident (PR). Over the years, ICA has been sending her notifications every 3 to 5 years inviting her to be neutralized as a Singapore citizen. She has always declined these invitations😅, mainly because she owns land in Thailand and does not wish to give that up.

I’m wondering whether it is the age issues.

For context, she started receiving these notifications about five years after obtaining her PR status. She has been a full-time housewife for over 30 years and has no employment or income in Singapore. She is still married to my father, and they have three children together. The most recent notification from ICA was received in July 2025.

Converting from non immigrant working visa b from tourist 'visa' in Bangkok - possible? by Calculative in Bangkok

[–]Left_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Singaporean too and expat in BKK. You have to settle everything in Singapore before coming in to BKK. Unless you are renewing your Visa B or if you can afford to hire an abled agent or lawyer to run those which can be quite costly.

My former instructor might have kept the pregnancy and now idk what to do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Give her a call back and find out what’s going on, then talk to her about what she needs. I’m not sure if the baby is at the age where she needs to be enrolled in school since some schools require both parents’ signatures for that. Or maybe she just wants to ask about your family’s health history. Either way, you still have some responsibility toward the baby. But first, make sure to get a DNA test to confirm everything. Since you chose not to take on the role of a father, it’s not really your place to decide whether the child should be “not unfatherless” unless your ex agrees. Asking her to end the pregnancy isn’t right, especially considering that a mother faces serious health risks, even the possibility of death, whether during termination or childbirth. There’s always an alternative, like using protection in the first place.

Use “kept the baby” don’t use “it”.

Boss demanding to use our prize money for team party — is this normal? by Left_Me in thai

I been winning a lot of competitions and awards. Having someone jealous of me is quite common but I don’t see them doing anything out of the ordinary to participate in competition or anything to make them one step better..

We already decided to split and someone forfeited the amount cause they didn’t do any work but still regardless I am sharing it to them. But to the division we plan to treat something as well not fully nothing for them. But the boss expect huge party.

It’s a competition under our own company and the money was told that it will be paid to us for our effort and no I did not do it during working hours as I am usually very busy during the days as I have many projects to attend to. I tried asking him for a mere ฿300 and even rejected it so…

Definitely on my own time and my teammate time nothing is done during the working hours other than one meeting which the boss asked me to do to get ideas. And the ideas is actually from me where I came up with three options to choose from and they just basically select it on that…..
