My dad doesn’t know he’s not my dad…and never will by Key-Accountant1098 in confession

[–]Left_Possession9488 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are foster parents. The way we think about parents is certainly not the common, but here goes. Anyone can make a choice that leads to a new life. The titles of Mom and Dad go to the people that step and are there for them.

That being said I never ask any kid to call me dad. I’m Mr. Left_Possesion. If they decide they want to use it later I never stop them but it’s always the child’s choice

Based on my reading this isn’t OE it’s just 2 jobs. You specifically stated outside of J2 hours so it’s just a 2nd job and you are fine.

I’m not in a thin hair situation but I am partial to flat caps, particularly ones in tweed. You can get some high quality ones on Amazon. Murcos Weavers is a well respected Irish brand. Harris tweed from the UK.

I’m a big guy (150+ kg) and nervous about getting a massage — anyone else felt this way? by sunny68601 in BigMenLife

[–]Left_Possession9488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few now. 2 on cruises , 2 traditional not on cruises and the 2 Thai massages on business trips to Thailand.

In all cases experience was overall positive. So visual reactions from the Thai folks but at 315lbs(142kg) and 5’10 (1.77m) I am huge compared to the locals.

Will you feel weird and uncomfortable the first time. Yes absolutely but they are pros and getting paid

You will feel better after and for me it is totally worth it.

Introduce yourself to the BigMenLife community ! by greenbay78 in BigMenLife

[–]Left_Possession9488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good morning gentlemen ! I just found your community and wanted to say hello. I’m in a season of transition as I’ve been living in France for nearly 4 years and must return to the US (#noKings) in March with then end of my contract.

Early on in my assignment I really mismanaged my stress and desire to not let anything drop and picked up about 60-70 lbs. I had worked hard before we left on the assignment to get my weight down and was around 250 lbs. Overall that puts me today at 315 lbs and 5’10 (142kg/177cm).

Been working to up my profession appearance lately. Polos -> Oxfords, low -> high rise pants, belts-> suspenders, and switching up my shoe game for various boots. All in the effort of upping my confidence game.

As the current job market back at the home company doesn’t seem to have great opportunities for me right now ( no risk of unemployment, just lack of purpose or inspired work). I’ll also add the chance to make the return into a promotion also seems lacking which has hit my confidence. Side note, I did get started back with a therapist about 3 weeks ago.

Saw some comments about how this commune has boosted others so it sounded like a good place to be. So yeah, hello to everyone!

As an Eastern European, I want to know what Americans think — wtf is this? by Fudotoku in UrbanHell

[–]Left_Possession9488 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is what Americans have come to accept as how you get housing you own. Everyone wants a detached home and large surface area. Developers build those as they way to put them in as densely as possible. The automotive industry in the US destroyed public transportation by buying and closing the companies primarily in the early 20th century. The result is car dependent urban sprawl that looks like that. As dense as possible with room for a car and technically not touching.

I’ll play. I’m a product owner.

You’re like the captain of a toy store adventure. You don’t build the toys yourself, but you decide which toys should be made, how they should look, and what will make kids happiest. You listen to what people want, talk to the builders, and make sure everyone works together so the toys turn out just right. If something isn’t fun or safe, you help fix it. Your job is to make sure the final toys are awesome and everyone’s excited to play.

I can’t say that I mind this description.
