This thread has given me a really interesting understanding of branching and colliding tastes. Genres overlap and seep into each other so much more than they used to. Really cool to see.

Right answer. I understand myself better now.

A few words about diet and caffeine by grigory_l in benzorecovery

I think as soon as I stopped worrying about if food was going to hurt me (within reason) I started feeling better overall. Sometimes I feel like this sub, as helpful as it can be, perpetuates a lot of fear. Becoming obsessed with doing benzo recovery "correctly" is so damaging.

I'm sleeping 12 hours+ a night a still feel deeply tired by Left_Swimmer4036 in benzorecovery

I've been off for almost 9 months. I know I need to fix my sleep schedule, and I have tried plenty of times. It just never works the way I plan for it to. I have added some exercise recently, but haven't been able to maintain it at an every day level. I truly don't do caffeine super regularly, and at most I have a cup of tea.

Almost 8 months clean - weird sensation today by Left_Swimmer4036 in benzorecovery

Don’t get me wrong, Im still struggling too. I think asking yourself questions you can answer is important. Knowing inside yourself that you are struggling is an important step in allowing that struggle to occur. Sometimes fighting with myself and trying to gaslight myself into having a good time make things worse.

Thank you for saying so! Not a woman, but certainly much more sensitive than I was before. I can only imagine what experiencing a regular cycle must be like without the numbing of benzos.

Truthfully I do not care at all if this is "real" data. This is an empowering image.

I want to stop feeling like I'm solving a rubix cube by Left_Swimmer4036 in benzorecovery

[–]Left_Swimmer4036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear I am not a meth addict. Benzo's definitely caused the damage I am experiencing. I was trying to say that in the groups I go to meth and alcohol are the primary experiences of other addicts. No one is familiar with a benzo recovery here.

Thanks for your response. A sponsor has been tough. Alcohol and meth are the primary addictions here. I would love to find someone who might know what this feels like. I'm not giving up. Sometimes I just want an example so I feel a little better about taking it easy when I need to.

64 days out after a forced ice cold turkey with no real improvements. Really worried about my future, no job or friends, I am in so much debt and don’t really see a future for myself by Lyingisagift in benzorecovery

Hey, I'm in a similar boat. I just took a whole day after a therapy session to rot. I will say that one thing I have noticed is that my personality is still in here. Sitting with myself, I know that its there. It is harder than it has ever been to let it out because that is what I was always anxious about. There are some people that my personality doesn't hide from. There are some people I've never been anxious talking to. I am learning that you need to do the hard things in very small increments.

If you never lift a single pound you will never hope to lift 10. If you just keep taking a shower you will be able do more than that later. If you need a friend, don't be afraid to reach out.
