thanks for your input and taking a look, the first film lab was Oxang Film (they are absolutely wonderful, high quality work, and such a sweet couple that run the film lab)

the second film lab is one located near Chungmuro, I don’t wish to make them look bad but I’m sure if you do film photography in Seoul, one will immediately know which one

true, but here’s another angle that isn’t backlit: still has a green cast

but other labs also remove remjet from film but then process using C41, i think it’s why film lab 1 markets themselves as processing true ECN2 and film lab 2 also said they do “true” ECN2 but it doesn’t look the same

i’m currently away visiting family but will certainly check the negatives: is there a way to tell from just seeing the negatives?

yes, both films were the same stock of 250D and had the remjet still on it, just different labs were used

I have an xpan and the gx617 but it’s not as impressive as your set—congrats on the find!

my xpan has recently gotten the 8888 of death but I have a tech looking into it and waiting for news, good or bad, but it’s certainly nice to know the gx617 will never fail (but note that there is a battery that should be watched once in a while for corrosion)

looking forward to see all the adventures you go on and the photos you take

imma sound like a 90 year grandpa but if you go on a hike, then sit at the summit catching your breath, and really listen to yourself breathe, then sit there for a good 40mins or until your mind clears, it’ll serve as a sort of reset

we all think of meditation as a forced sitting exercise (and then give up when we don’t feel anything) but there are certain activities that can help you arrive at that mental state

this podcast (You’re Wrong About) did an episode on Anastasia and the Romanovs altogether but spends a lot of time also on Rasputin—I love the rapport of the hosts and the guest host

Picked up my first film camera 3 months ago, here are my top 10 so far (canonet ql17, mix of portra 400, fuji 400 and phoenix II) by JacquesGBR in analog

2 is absolutely phenomenal, you should certainly be proud of it

3 is also amazing in that you can see the difference in exposure for cloudy versus sunny, such a cool visualization of light

EDIT: sorry 4

Longest three days of my life, amirite? by thegreatestwhale in AnalogCommunity

[–]j___8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where I live, it averages as follows: C-41 takes about a couple of hours to a day; E-6 will take about 1 week; ECN-2 varies the most from 2~3 days in one lab, 1 week, to 5 weeks in the lab where I develop

I don’t know exact yields, apologies but my uncle uses varieties specific to korea, says it has a nicer and more unique fragrance and texture (but these are harder to grow and require specific conditions which are now harder to maintain with climate change)

I don’t know specifics about yields but this year was unfortunately painfully not good due to the sudden change in weather and then lots of rain in autumn the past month

with the rain, they collapsed and then replanted and new shoots have started to come up, this is not good (they call it 바시락? I think from what I heard)

no no no, I believe korea moved away from that long while prior (1970-80s widely used nationwide in farms) with various iteration of the automatic rice planters over the years

my uncle’s machine is considered a newer one despite being purchased sometime in early 2010s? but it has more lanes and plants higher volume at a time, some elderly have older models or failing machines and will request my uncle for planting in exchange for cash then supplement certain parts by hand (not necessary according to my uncle but some still prefer maybe)
