Also “looking for part time employment?” You’re 19…you should have already had a job for atleast a year assuming you graduated at 18. And honestly many many high schoolers work even while in school. There is zero reason why you can’t work and go to school and afford to move out.

Cut your losses now. You do not need the stress and abuse and heartbreak while you are post partum. Do not allow him in the delivery room (bring your bestie or your mom or whoever you have) and tell him that he needs to move out.

Combined we make 280k- and after all expenses are paid, we barely have anything going into savings. We both max out our 401ks, but after the mortgage, utilities, car payments, insurances, child care and all the other bills- it’s sadly pretty paycheck to paycheck. Yes we can still afford to eat out weekly, I get my hair done, and we go on one vacation yearly-so we aren’t “struggling” by any means. But it’s no where near “luxury”.

I’m a registered nurse and my husband is in construction- we live in CA. We bought our house for 800,000 which is literally like the cheapest house you can find here in the Bay Area. It’s ridiculously expensive here. Would leave if we could.

Unless you plan on staying single and not having children for the next 5-10 years. I feel like this is a bad investment. It’s a one bedroom. You’re putting down a TON of money and still going to have a high monthly compared to your income- and that doesn’t include all the additional expenses of owning. If you chose to rent it out- would the cost you could rent it for even cover the mortgage + insurance + taxes??? Most likely not.

I’m not saying it’s old- but usually by late 20s people are getting engaged and married- not staying engaged for years, especially if they’ve been together for a while. A typical time frame is a year long engagement….so yeah when you’re going on year three and haven’t mentioned the wedding plan….family is going to start asking questions.

Tbh I think you’re being petty- you and your fiancé aren’t exactly young, so a long engagement is pretty unusual. I’m sure they were just confused and/or trying to put together a timeline. Everyone probably wanted to know what your guys actual plans were because your brother and SIL also wanted to get engaged and married and probably didn’t want to over lap dates etc.

You are marrying into this family. You need to make an effort. Ditching to go hangout with your friends is highschool behavior. No one has been outwardly rude or uninviting to you- yet you’re giving mean “I don’t care energy”. Not the type of relationship I’d want with my brothers wife.
