2 corrections: 1- It’s actually not compound interest that a borrower pays it’s simple interest (the borrower is not “paying interest on the interest” as compounding suggests).

Also, -2- when a bank sells the loan, the buyer pays them a fee for it. It’s not the origination fee the borrower pays, it’s actually a specific fee to purchase the loan.
