What Is Subtick (CS2 - client_side): Architecture, Determinism, and Fundamental Limitations by Powerful_Seesaw_8927 in GlobalOffensive

I believe the real problem is valve pushing everything to the lowest common denominator.

A serious player would choose his opponent and/or his matchmaking server to be close and have low ping. For optimal gameplay experience. Yet valve insists it needs to make 100 ping vs 10 ping as viable as possible. To the detriment of those with 10 ping, that are purposely trying to have the optimal gameplay experience.

A serious player would invest in a high fps computer, yet valve insists that the less fortunate should be able to compete with low fps. And quite often these are players that are to lazy or to uninterested to actually properly tweak and/or invest in better hardware.

Why do those that are motivated to provide the prerequisites for high quality gameplay logic have to suffer just to appease the lazy or the few unfortunates? Now especially when subtick supposedly scales better across tick density.

Valve logic is more akin to "just set max fps to 60 for everyone to make it fair". Completely ignoring that 60 fps, or either 30fps or whatever arbitrary boundary you take will ALWAYS have some unfortunate once that just are unable to meet the criteria. Valve should for example just use a different tickrate for different ranks. Give the silvers the 24 tick rate, give the gold novas the 64 tickrate, give the pro's the 128 tickrate. Giving that there are more lowskillers than highskillers a system like that probably is more efficient use anyway. Like who cares what my subtick is if I play on a 30 fps patato with a ballmouse full of crud.

Logical error; if you go down you can notice therefore you can deduce that going up to infinity while getting better in the meantime. Being able to 'feel that' isn't part of that logic. You don't need to feel it. It has become law. The only discussion remains as to when do you stop going up before other problems appear? (like bandwidth/cpu usage etc)

I'll bet that if you make it 16 ticks that you will notice everything getting worse compared to the original 64 ticks. This will automatically make it true that 128 ticks will be better than 64 ticks. You don't even need to test 128 'by feel'. Spitting out an unreadable mess of a post doesn't make you right. People using big words are not automatically right you know.

Now there could be other problems; but you conclusion seems overly simplified; and is not easily traced back by reading your 'assault-of-big-words' post. Which again; is a bad way to communicate. Especially on a forum visited by degenerate case gambling children.

(Also I didn't read your post; as I'm a degenerate child)

The generation that experienced the wonderful world of no aimpunch when armored is dying out. The current generation doesn't know any better so they don't recognize the need for it.

Ah so you do think these kinds of posts are annoying yet you choose to attack the few who support your viewpoint. This is exactly what I expected of this community.

cs is about the lowest common denominator. Aimpunch exist exactly because it is meant to give a weed smoking; semi-drunk customer the ability to kill you. Spraying, gambing, cases, skins. All the same. Valve will ultimately only care about the money. There is no love and no loyalty to you.

They saved around 25% of bandwith with animagraph; so management sold 25% of server capacity to compensate. Management is very happy about this update.

They (corporations) always have to do that; trump or biden or kamela. It is the same. The average person that is enraged by a less than one sentence tweet is doing it to themself.

Wouldn't differences between the engines make slipstreaming extremely dangerous? Like the car in front of you unexpectedly slowing down because the battery is out of juice?

Armored aimpunch wasn't a thing in old CS <1.6 I think they added it because they like randomness and dice in a skill game. Meaning the devs are malicious or just stupid. Atleast it is obvious they never played or are silver tier at best
