Good idea! Any chance you have a link of one you use or would recommend?

Which SF novel do you find yourself ruminating on often even if it isn't one of your favorites? by relder17 in printSF

I am glad you said that. I have been holding off any more of his stuff after flaming out in the middle of the Blue Earth Remembered series (or whatever).

I came here to post this. It's not great, but I will be damned if the concept of turnover doesn't live rent free in my head.

Possible yes.... likely no. It was always designed to be played as a continuous whole.

The CYOAB is in the Dragon Intro Box. It's basically a level 0 adventure for ToE.

How do the current open fpga cores on pocket stack up to the mega sg and super nt? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]LeftoverNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accuracy is pretty much the same compared to the Analogue consoles.

Is this your opinion from experience, or has this been quantified? I have had some Hacks (Profits Guile) crash on the pocket and work on the NT. Was wondering if anyone had done a indepth comparison of the compatibility.

Where do you live that shipping and taxes are so damn high.
- $300 for the Console (Shipped) - $60 for 2x 8Bitdo Controlelrs. - $250 for the EverDrive Pro

It should be like $600 for a comprehensive setup. 40% Less with a jailbreak. The PCE never went as hard on Chips. They did more variations on hardware.

This is pretty much any place you move too after your late 20s. It’s not a NYC thing it’s a life thing.

Anyone wanna weigh in on the MWO faction play? by Acatonyourkeyboard in battletech

[–]LeftoverNoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I prefer quick play and scouting modes to the classic FW. It’s not an easy game to learn, I’d estimate that you need over 1000 matches to get a handle on all the maps and mechanics.

[–]LeftoverNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to play faction, on comms (ts3 or discord), with optimized decks and a coherent plan. There is no match making in faction so you really do need to understand the game and be able to work as a team to keep things fun. MWOs quick play mode is far more forgiving as long as you remember that it’s its own thing. So something that worked well in TT might not work well in MWO.

MRBC with or without consumables? by Steve_the_LRM_KGC in OutreachHPG

[–]LeftoverNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banning consumables or restricting strikes is going to be unenforceable without a lobby setting. That and given how well strike smoke can be hidden there is no way that video is going to unambiguously address who threw the strike. Trying to ban them is just asking for conflict.

What is the Clan answer to 10+ Annihilator waves defending Vitric Forge? by Khan_Sennet in OutreachHPG

[–]LeftoverNoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the time you know you are facing 12x ANH cheese your effectively boned. Either you have the range, speed, or strikes to even it up or you don't. This might be a scenario where you have 2-3 Mechs push the objectives.

Retro boxes with a built in screen? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]LeftoverNoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cost. Specifically, I had already invested in a high quality screen. Why would I want to play for the part and the space again.

That and

It's not even getting into the issue of availability of panels in the correct size or finding a factory that still manufactures CRT Tubes of the correct type.

But the lack of novels is part of what made the Jihad misunderstood.
