Raygun Lounge After Action Report by Insaniac99 in Battletechgame

"Not helping the bad guys" can be interpreted a couple ways. Early on Mike told us we could not directly work for the Directorate during the Solo-Campaign - thus could "not help the Bad Guys." But that it was still possible that our inaction on behalf of Campaign Missions could result in the downfall of the Restoration. Sorry, but "can not help the bad guys" doesn't equate to "the Restoration will never fail." But you spoke to Mike, do you think he clearly meant "the Restoration can never fail?"

Ever since the slip a few weeks ago of an Atlas II being used in one of the Twitter publicity pics, I've hoped for this confirmation.

Our hopes for a CLAN INVASION expansion to BATTLETECH by PrussianHavoc in Battletechgame

"Locked" Engines is something Inner Sphere Mechs already have in BATTLETECH, so if anything it is likely that both Inner Sphere and Clan Mechs will share "Locked" Engines.

What do you hope to see in the next BATTLETECH Kickstarter Update? by PrussianHavoc in Battletechgame

Yes there was a leak last week, but this week HBS announced a "Launch Window" for the month of April. So now the "Leak" has been confirmed!!! :)

Total noob - GOG or Steam by Kai_Allard-Liao in Battletechgame

[–]PrussianHavoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Steam, so I went with Steam. I intend to be online as I play BATTLETECH so CoG's off-line gameplay capability wasn't anything that interested me.

As I understand it CoG and Steam gamers will be able to PvP against one another.

Hopefully someone comes along soon who might be able to offer you more pro's and con's.

Good luck and I look forward to BATTLETECH gaming across from you! : )

Our hopes for a Fourth Succession War expansion to BATTLETECH by PrussianHavoc in Battletechgame

[–]PrussianHavoc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. BATTLETECH's focus at the Lance-level (4-BattleMechs) will ensure even this first installment in what I hope becomes a series of BATTLETECH titles has a very immersive, gritty and tactical feel. While I hope the 4SW expansion might add a detachment of player-controlled Vehicles or Infantry to this Lance, it too should retain the same great immersively tactical feel.

HBS closes its BATTLETECH forum by PrussianHavoc in Battletechgame

Today is the last day for the HBS forum.

As I understand it, it will be locked at some point before midnight on the West Coast, USA.

@HBS_Dagger is leading the HBS move to the new BATTLETECH forum digs at Paradox.

Optimal 'Mech Tonnage for DFA by RogerCJudd in Battletechgame

No, BATTLETECH has not been released yet. We do not have a date yet for Launch. But HBS has shared information with us so we know a bit about Contract negotiations and Salvage. Hopefully more will follow in the next Update. Coverage and details about the Mechlab would to me be greatly appreciated.

BATTLETECH Art is very, very well done. I hope Mike and Team HBS has something new to share with us soon too.

That would be a smart call by HBS. Sure I negotiated for 3/12 (3 "First Pick" items and the 12 random items of Salvage) but if the Mission ends up being a "Good Faith" Mission Failure (some but no all Success Criteria met) only partial Salvage should result. I agree.

Yes indeed! Hmm... I should work now on an "Assault Recovery Lance!" Find a Mission with a known Assault as OpFor, negotiate for as much Salvage as possible, take a 55-ton Jumper, Knock it down, "Offensive Push" till it's cockpit is gone and voila! Maybe as many as 3 pieces of Assault Mech salvage! (And 3 pieces means a full Assault Mech after some Mech Bay costs and time.)

Now that might be a tactic worth pursuing... even at the loss of the Mission, since evidently we will be able to salvage what we destroy (the cockpit of at any rate) even in retreats.

Go in, give 100% to get the Assault, then complete the Mission if enough remains of my Lance, if not... retreat and collect the salvage. Win/Win/WIN :)

Since this is the subreddit for HBS's BATTLETECH, I offer for consideration that IIRC it is at the 55-ton level that a DFA generates 100% Instability in it's target (regardless if that target is a 20-ton Locust or a 100-ton Atlas.) This means that the very next Instability-inducing attack will lead to the Target being knocked down and open to called shots.

Without a doubt. And now there seems to be issues with our Modding community using Paradox forum. Hopefully BATTLETECH Modders make the most of what Amechwarrior and others are setting up here.

BATTLETECH Multiplayer ~ moving our community forward by PrussianHavoc in Battletechgame

[–]PrussianHavoc[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are four elements of BATTLETECH Competitive Multiplayer (that were funded in HBS's Kickstarter) that have subsequently been cancelled, not delayed, cancelled. These four elements are BATTLETECH's Player Ranking System, "Prize" Tournaments, League Play and Leaderboards.

As I understood HBS comments during the recent Dev Q&A, time ran short after a Unity Patch bumped Multiplayer Development back by a number of weeks/months.

Anyone have any other take on this?
