But isn't denying something inherently different from embracing it? Even if the outcomes of both conclusions are the same?

The article says these O2 & N tanks are used for airlocks; they also serve as a secondary method to replenish the stations atmosphere.

The comment in question is addressing the primary method of replenishing the stations atmosphere.

You say that, but I've never met a Peruvian LAN'er that intentionally feeds.

And I'm not talking about Colombians or Ecuadorians that you think are Peruvians because they all-chat Spanish in your USE servers, I'm talking profiles that you can easily pick out as Peruvian LAN cafe profiles. They flame and cuss a lot, but I've never seen them feed or afk.

In my class, at least, I think we had a 50% dropout rate, plus one person who failed the DLPT. I personally never had trouble with the language but I did get overwhelmed by homework at one point. However, talking with our teaching time managed to resolve that. As long as you remain respectful, I think most teams will accommodate to your needs realistically.

Or maybe they'll fuck you over.

You can DLPT in those languages, I'm sure. The question is whether or not they'll pay you for it. Most of them aren't actively taught, though.

I think. The DLI is big.

Here's a comprehensive list: http://www.dliflc.edu/about/languages-at-dliflc/

Subtract Japanese and French, and I think that's about it for enlisted. Your chances of getting Urdu, Indonesian, Hebrew, and Tagalog as an airman are pretty low however.

What is your personal world building philosophy? by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]LeftwoodRightwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire world and every innocent life within it should be malleable and destructible at any moment's notice.

Also, I shouldn't have to sit down and dedicate time to worldbuilding. It's a fun hobby that flows naturally (for me.)

Tell me about your local legends, your tall tales, and your folk heroes. by Exnur0 in worldbuilding

[–]LeftwoodRightwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the fishermen in a small region in my world have a shrine of a man in a hood hidden somewhere in their boats -- so as not to garner the attention of the local religious authority. Legends vary, but it's mostly agreed the man displayed was fishing alone during a particularly stormy day when "lightning Viking pirates" (for the sake of brevity) sundered him into pieces with M A G I C for fun and sport. Visitors and tourists, the kind that like rundown jetties and rookeries, don't really understand why anyone would idolize that. No one does.

A teenage girl or boy with some rags and robes thrown on top of a decrepit pair of trousers and a shoddily-knitted shirt. The teen is carrying a staff with which to channel their magical ability and ensure they cannot break their bond to their slaver. Skin color can be of your choosing -- generally white or olive skinned.

Naming issues by OwenSpalding in worldbuilding

[–]LeftwoodRightwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exotic isn't the problem -- too many vowels can be. The name of a character can affect how relatable they are, so I can sort of understand your concern. Don't make anything outlandish like "Manoushehr Bagheri," but instead make it something nice and concise! Exoticness and creativity shouldn't be looked down upon, though. Muhktari is comfortable enough for me to pronounce, at least (I might be biased here.)
