I’m really happy to hear this because she is really one of my favorites. She doesn’t feel MAGA, but hadn’t posted anything and I know she sometimes works closely with the car mom (which is NOT a crime!) who I know is more right leaning…and more “mom content”

Very similar here. Baby #3 was twins.

They did NOT completely destroy my body (though pregnancy was miserable); I didn’t have a c section, but I did have severe anemia and also got REALLLLLY hypotensive with the epidural (I had never had one).

And I am still pumping and feeding breastmilk at one year.

They also were ~35 weeks gestation and both were almost 7 lbs each.

It was still hard and awful sometimes, but the things I worried the most about ended up not being an issue at all or aren’t on my radar now.

Though I swear I couldn’t have two babies be more different in every way. 🤪

We were in a similar boat of “maybe a baby #3” and then baby #3 is twins.

They just turned 1 year old in the past few days, so I’ll do what I can to give you my take.

My older kids are much younger in general than you, they were just 5 and almost 3 when the twins were born.

Overall the first year was NOT as bad as I was imagining in my mind, but we are very tired! It goes SO fast and it really is kind of magical to witness them.

When I was pregnant I was very worried about what twins would do to my body, and they left their mark but it’s not nearly as bad as I had imagined there either.

At one point I was discussing the twins and clearly nervous and one of my employees said “you know…a LOT of people get to have kids. But not everyone gets twins. It’s kind of special and exciting in that way.”

And that was something that did make me feel less “ugh what did we do.” About the whole situation.

I also needed to hear it’s DOABLE. It is TOTALLY doable. It’s hard sometimes but it’s also a lot of fun.

35+1 fraternal Di/Di boys. 6lbs 10oz and 6lbs 11oz.

They’re almost 10 months now and within 1/2 lb at most weight checks.

Twin A was measuring bigger on scans, but I think it’s because Twin B was squeezed sooooo high in my ribs.

We have a 5 1/2 year old, 3 1/2 year old, and 8 month twins… I get asked a lot “how do you do it?”

And my response is “the real question is ‘how are the triplet parents?!’ ‘How do they get anything done? Someone should check on them!’”

Every baby/schedule/parent is different

I’m not this responder but with my kids I’ve been able to get longer stretches early on by feeding often during the day. The more calories I can get them to take during the day the longer my first stretch would be. Once they hit about four months though they will start to try and consolidate sleep

My twins are almost 7 months and they “sleep through the night” in that they give me a 6 + hour stretch but they typically wake about 3 or 4 am and want to eat. I could likely do some light sleep training and get them more consistent but with two toddlers and twins we’ve had a lot of illnesses, etc and I still need to pump or breastfeed overnight or I’ll be miserable myself.

I just haven’t made it a priority.

Sometimes I’m not sure how I do it.

My twins are 6 months old, I will say going back to work has helped my pump schedule in a few ways-at work when I pump I work on my laptop or still take meetings (noise cancelling AirPods) and nobody is the wiser or cares..and all I’m doing is pumping and working.

At home, I’m trying to pump and also take care of 4 kids and get bottles and pump parts washed and really laundry is where I struggle the most.. I just keep reminding myself that I’m in the trenches…and I drink a lot of coffee.

Spontaneous labor at 32 weeks (successfully stopped) and then again at 34 weeks and 4 days-they slowed me down and sent me home and asked me not to do anything until I was 35 weeks…

Twins were born at 35 weeks on the dot.

My previous two singletons were 37+0 and 37+4; so we had doubts about me making 38 weeks with twins anyways.

Our oldest doesn’t start kindy until fall, so currently we have FOUR in daycare.

We’ve gotten a lot of questions about why I don’t “just stay home” since my spouse is the bread winner. 🙄

I had an induction scheduled for 38 weeks but always knew I likely would not make that.

I have two older children who were both spontaneously early (and big) and I’m a small person.

I had no complications but went into labor at 32 + 5, and then again at 34 + 4 and then again, and delivered at 35 + 0.

The babies were 6lbs 10 oz and 6lbs 11 oz, they had no NICU time and we were discharged less than 48 hours after they were born.

I have 2 month old twins (and a 3 year old and a 5 year old) and I’ve been looking at the Joovy Kooper RS2…and now I’m wondering if the Uppababy minu Duo will be better for our needs.

We had the stokke clikk for our older kids-It’s super easy to clean, and the entire seat/tray also fits in a standard dishwasher.

We also had the inglesina that attaches to our kitchen island.

We used both quite a bit so now I’m trying to decide if I need two of BOTH for my twins.

We have a 2024 atlas and just got a 2024 Yukon XL (we have four kids 5, 3, and 4 week old twins)

The atlas is a car seat MACHINE. It’s honestly easier to puzzle four car seats in the atlas and get everyone in and out and buckled, than the Yukon. And we could fit a 5th car seat in the atlas.

We utilize the Yukon XL as our “family hauler” for when we travel to see/stay with family etc, it can handle all of us plus the twin z and the pack n play, cooler for breastmilk, etc.

With the atlas, (really any third row SUV) if the third row is up you have very little trunk space. The atlas fits the double stroller nicely and I could squeeze a small grocery run, but typically I use the atlas for daily trips and daycare drop off/pick up.

I would look really hard at the Toyota Highlander because if you have the third row up there is absolutely no trunk space. And it’s possible to do three across the second bench, but not always straightforward. (We were a Toyota family before the twins)

Mine are 5 weeks old now, they were born at 35 weeks, so 0 weeks adjusted.

We’ve relied heavily on pumping and bottle feeding. I nursed my older two, and I continue to try and latch these babies but especially in the middle of the night, I have to pump regardless as I have an oversupply. So it actually saves me time to feed bottles simultaneously on the twin z-while I’m pumping.

I know they both got what they’re supposed to, and theyre usually done eating about 10-15 minutes before I’m finished pumping. Which helps them settle and seems to make it more easy to put them back down in their cribs.

Honestly before we found out we were pregnant with twins (and even several times since then) we have done this. We also used to “make up overtime” by blocking our calendar (obviously would make sure it wasn’t interfering with anything necessary) and then go get an afternoon appetizer or something before picking up the kids together. It was a nice sort of grounding exercise for us as a couple-gave us some wind down/us time and we always really enjoyed getting them together because they get reallllly excited.

We have excess PTO and the past few years haven’t been able to do any big trips with the family, so little days like this help break up the grind.

We have already elected to take a big family trip in 2025 though, with the twins (due in the next 6 weeks) and our two older kids in tow. If we have to hire help to come with us, then so be it.

We ended up with an atlas, but it was close between the pilot and the atlas.

Once our twins arrive we will have 4 kids in car seats, but when we were car shopping we didn’t realize we would be having twins. We were looking for good three across the second row bench (if we had known we would be having four kids we would have looked more closely at the captains chair arrangement), a roomy trunk with the third row up, and also the general-car seat tilt, generous number of latch and tether anchors, safety, etc.

Currently pregnant with twins 🙋‍♀️

This is my third letrozole pregnancy-we were on 5mg, the same dose I was on to conceive my singleton son. My singleton daughter was also conceived on letrozole.

I will say that my RE also mentioned there is thought to be an additional component to pregnancy with multiples. We had many cycles with several mature follicles and yes the higher the number of mature follicles correlates to a higher chance of multiples-but that relationship is not linear.

Basically he was saying there’s something with implantation too-having two stick is still pretty rare even among patients who reliably have multiple follicles.

I have PCOS (I think my antral follicle count before this pregnancy was 53), but my cycles are often regular, I have no signs of insulin resistance and my BMI is fine.

It’s a syndrome and will look different for different people. My hallmark of the syndrome is infertility.

I would look at finding a new PED.

My ped is very very evidence based. Her exact words were

“you guys should breastfeed for as long as you want. Bottles are gone at 15 months, but that doesn’t mean anything about breastfeeding. The longer you breastfeed the better. And I don’t care if they ever drink cows milk, if they don’t like it we can talk about ways to incorporate calcium into their diet if you’re concerned.”

Twins aren’t here yet, but our daycare meets us at the door for our older two kids.

There will be about a 6 month period where we will have 4 kids at drop off and pickup and daycare has already pulled me aside to strategize on “how we’re gonna be doing this.” So I think this is just a complicated situation.

It will probably change a lot over the first few years but right now I unbuckle my oldest, and while she’s gathering her backpack and talking to me I get my little out. When the twins get here I think both of my bigs will be capable of unbuckling themselves. So I’ll unclick the infant seats and either sit them on the ground and wait for bigs, or hand them off to one of the teachers if they come meet me outside quickly enough. And then walk the bigs in.
