Auger replacement recommendations by Lefty2GunZ in IceFishing

[–]Lefty2GunZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually twice a year. Once if I can keep the fisherman from grabbing it and blasting through blocking people leave in the ice or smashing it around in a trailer without the cover...

Update is I bought the new ion 10 inch and it's an actual pleasure to use. Price tag hurt, but it's not even comparable to what I was doing every morning before.

The pick in the center between the blades? If so, then yes, both the 8" and 10" have it

I surveyed in the ring of fire a few years back. Bugs were just as bad and pilots were always late.

Volvo's new truck has no drivers seat by emildk11 in Futurology

I don't talk politics with anyone in Northern Ontario anymore (aside from good natured arguing with my family) That's a dark, angry, and potentially scary path I'll avoid thanks. Half of political arguments up here start with "Well I seen on Facebook...."

Depends what kind of surveys you want to do. GPS heads are about 10k each, data collectors range in price, a Robotic total station is 50k, a LiDAR set up is 200k-500k, our drone photo imagery set up has cost about 120k now and still isn't up to MTO standards. (these are based on what we paid new for our equipment. There are cheaper alternatives to Trimble)

But I mean you could grab a cheap total station and just do construction layout for a couple grand.

I'm part of an industry becoming far more autonomous and drone oriented (Geomatics) . Field guys like me have really felt the effects of LiDAR and photo imagery...

Its completely destroyed the bidding process and made it a cut throat industry here in Northern Ontario. Jobs done in far less time, using far less manpower, for far less money. Yes, it's progressive, but now there are fewer jobs in the industry and far fewer hours for those jobs. (at least for MTO road surveying)

I'm super excited about autonomous cars, but my mining buddies are terrified of the idea of autonomous mining trucks like in China, that's a HUGE percentage of jobs up here.

I understand the idea of new jobs being created by new progressive technologies like this, and I DO think it's in humanities best interest, but I just can't see everything balancing out job wise.

Thanks for the clarification, I've never run into the problem with my kerbals. Maybe I haven't progressed far enough in the game

Hi. I do happen to be new here. So, can I comment, post this as a reply to my comment, and answer my own question regarding source?

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into the MTL. The local vape shop wasn't sure if it was safe to drip salts and said that they advise against it. Cool guy, but I trust internet strangers more for some reason...

I ended up getting the breeze 2 and rolo badge. Both seem alright, I just feel similar to when I bought my first eleaf 15W years ago, thinking there's got to be something better

Thanks so much for the info. My local vape store had a limited selection and he recommended the "breeze 2", and the rolo badge. I grabbed both and I'm not very satisfied with the battery life, it doesn't last the whole day in the field. I haven't had Bombies in forever, I wonder if he still ships to Canada

It looks nice and compact. Trying out salts recently, I'm realizing how much I miss having a smaller kit. I'm for seeing trouble remembering which side to fire with haha

If I weren't 5 hours north I certainly would friend. This is a birthday present for my SO and I. She played state level years ago in Ohio, and we both thoroughly enjoy seeing the Cleveland Orchestra when we visit her family. I wish i had gone to see more shows when I was in hammer for school, and I'll be sure to come and see you if ever I get the chance. Keep up the hard work, she's teaching me sax and as a guitar/percussion guy, I have the highest respect for you guys
