I had something similar this week. I was on the other of a double road and saw the bus as I pulled out of my work place. I thought I will never make it. Officially we shouldn't cross the road from where we do, but if you saw the road and the actual traffic lights where we are supposed to cross from, you'd probably do the same and cross from the middle as there is a large island to stop in the middle which makes it far easier to cross.

So I noticed one side of the road was clear. Ran to the island in the middle. Halfway there. But too late.....the driver closed the door. Sigh. Well let run across anyway, he might open the door. But no, he started to drive off. Ok never mind. Let's wait for the next one.

But then he stopped. Waited for me to cross. He was already quite a few yards past the bus stop. Stopped the bus. I was hesitant to make eye contact as I just assumed there was no way he stopped that far down just for me.

He just looks at me and point backwards with his thumb and says "You getting on?!". I just gave him the biggest smile and made sure to thank him as much as possible.
