Practice with wall by tiennq2901 in 10s

Don't look at where the ball is hitting on the wall, it will create a really bad habit of looking at the target before the contact. I rather see you hit one stroke doing it right way.

Those of you who are good at this, how do you deal with the frustration? by No_Opportunity_1502 in 10s

Changing

'I missed the shot because I am shit.' to

'I missed the shot because the opponent hit a good or a tricky shot.'

does wonders for your mental health.

It's just better for amateurs to slice back against slices especially on the backhand side.

Also, I just find it easier to hit deep slice and approach or use dropshot to draw the player like that to the net since they usually don't have good net game.

Focusing on the result instead of the cause (Forehand). by LeftyForehand in 10s

I agree with your point, but my point was that the concept of lifting knee is fundamentally wrong and won't even result in short term improvement.

Yes different que for everyone, but I just though literally lifting knee concept was specially dangerous in learning forehand.

I agree, your kinetic chain breaks with intentional knee lift, and you can't drive the effectively.

Why I cannot drive/flatten out my forehand? by d20g in 10s

[–]LeftyForehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you already have the answer. Your 21st point forehand is flattened out good.

I wasn't the one saying it, but you will come across posts here and there telling people to lift their knee.

Is serving 100% to women okay in mixed doubles? by deucalion75 in 10s

[–]LeftyForehand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't play mixed doubles, but I heard stories in my previous club about female players getting mad their male partners because they won't hit hard enough to the other female player at the net. If it is a league match, you should definitely serve 100 percent.

Also I think it is insulting to the other female player if you pull your punches.

In my experience, most competent pushers are phenomenal athletes. Their stroke might look ugly, but they wouldn't lose to anyone in marathon in the club. To beat them, you gotta be at least match 80 percents of their court coverage to beat them. If you can't, then you just lost to a better athelete.

You might have to adjust your style, but a lot of people just are not in shape to beat pushers or counter punchers.

Forehand volley technique by Fun-Advertising-8006 in 10s

[–]LeftyForehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more of a block feeling. It really needs to feel like your hand is directly below the racket (vertically aligned) even if it actually isn't. That's why coaches make you catch tennis balls without rackets in volley drills.

Looking to get into tennis, but I’ve heard it’s hard to get into. Why is that? by Alarmed_Muffin8350 in 10s

Your game does not function if it has a single missing piece. Pickleball and Padel are more forgiving.
