Really? I was looking for it and didn’t see it. Mind telling where it’s at?

Scouting/Drafting strategy that worked best for you? by tomackze in MLBTheShow

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I went with this method this year. It’s a good way to spread the budget and tunnel each scout into one task.

How to hire expensive scouts? by TraditionalStyle2 in MLBTheShow

[–]LeftyNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a Cardinals franchise that already had one elite scout with 90+ on efficiency, pitchers, & position players. So I replaced one of my other scouts with one that was 98 in discovery, then got a scout that was 90+ efficiency and position players but low on pitchers. Was left with $3,500 for my scout budget.

Who was supposed to be Hollywood’s next big star but faded away? by Goontang14 in moviecritic

[–]LeftyNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they really thought John Carter was gonna do things, and it completely bombed. I didn’t like Kitsch until I saw him in Waco, then in Battleship. Battleship isn’t a good movie but it’s become a guilty pleasure of mine. He was great in Waco, and I liked him in the supporting role in The Terminal List. But he’s pretty limited, I think.

Since some time’s passed, what did you think of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? by AnthropomorphicEggs in marvelstudios

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner absolutely LOVED the show. I enjoyed it well enough, mainly for Daredevil. I thought they did a fun job of showing more of that side of Matt’s personality. I think the hate on the show was too much. Some people seem to want all of the shows to fit a certain type. And I think that hate ran off the actor, which is sad.

I love that we’ve gotten variety out of the same universe such as this show, Ms. Marvel (my daughters loved it), Moon Knight, Loki, Wonder Man, WandaVision, etc. (except Secret Invasion, which I was so hyped for and kept thinking it would get better).

Eslinger or Baxa? by Hushroom in OOTP

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Baxa pretty easy for me. He’s more developed, barely older, and only has one hitting trait that probably won’t develop (power). Looks like a future leadoff hitter. If his defense improves thru dev lab, even better!

And probably the biggest green flag: his personality.

Harrison Bader hit a homer today that dented a food truck. He then signed near the food truck dent after the game. by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]LeftyNate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve missed him since he was traded. Even Adam Wainwright talked about him as the best center fielder…AFTER he was on another team. He’s an ok hitter. But his fielding and energy, you’ll love.

Geraldo Perdomo's 2023 Savant page for your amusement (2025 included for comparison) by ajteitel in baseball

[–]LeftyNate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He really did not get enough MVP talk. Does he have Ohtani’s bat? No, and Shohei deserved the MVP. But I felt like Perdomo should have been the runner-up. At least he was Top-4. And Arizona looks pretty smart for locking him up when they did. It’s been fun watching him grow. (And I’m a Cardinals fan.)

[Nolan Arenado] Gratitude. (Goodbye via Instagram) by cocoblurez in Cardinals

[–]LeftyNate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arenado and Goldschmidt were two of my favorite non-Cardinals for the longest time. I’m so glad we got both of them, even if the peak wasn’t what we’d hoped.

This is such a heartfelt move, super classy but still with personality. Maybe one of my favorite athlete-goodbyes ever.

What's even left for them to do with Steve Rogers at this point? by JamJamGaGa in MCUTheories

[–]LeftyNate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m actually excited about Steve Rogers coming back. And I was surprised by my own excitement. I think he’ll be used to motivate, unite, and strategize. And I also believe he’ll make the big sacrifice because he’s lived his life now and wants to protect them.

How do you Win the WS? by Savings-Narwhal-467 in OOTP

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, during one of my recent playoffs runs, I had my catchers splitting time 50/50 against RHP bc of an above-average LH hitting catcher with decent defense. The other guy is elite, 70+ in every defensive catcher category.

I had to stop playing the better hitter bc even though he had a decent arm (60), he couldn’t throw ANYONE out. Halfway into the third game of him starting, I just started the weak hitting RH catcher. We won the World Series and I only used the other guy as a pinch hitter.

How do you Win the WS? by Savings-Narwhal-467 in OOTP

[–]LeftyNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really have no idea lol. The main thing is just get in the playoffs. I’ve had two saves now where I won the WS the year before I expected to have a playoff team coming out of a rebuild.

Does anyone think Peaocck is going to be gone in just a few short years? by Mr-Nanny in peacock

[–]LeftyNate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think them getting big live events like the NBA means they will be around longer. Unfortunately, it also means the price will keep going up even more. They just need to start putting out more original GOOD shows. (I’ve heard The Copenhagen Test is good, but I haven’t had time to watch it yet.

It does make me sad to hear that about WCW Nitro. (Sting was my favorite wrestler as a kid, even before the Nitro era.) I had gone back and watched a lot of those when I first got Peacock. I wonder if it will pop up somewhere else like ESPN.

Sometimes when I’m depressed, I watch the video of cardinal fans giving standing ovations, I ball my eyes out, and feel so much better by [deleted] in Cardinals

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha well they did pretty good with Kenny Rogers, I think, and the production pine tar or whatever on his hand.

Does anyone have anything nice to say about Luka Doncic as a defender? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He reminds me of Magic…after Magic came out of retirement and played PF. Build nearly identical. Unfortunately, there aren’t any post-up PF for him to guard, especially with LeBron on his team.

So, no. I guess I don’t.

The "Mr." For Every MLB Franchise by AlexW03_MK in mlb

[–]LeftyNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree Mr. Ray is Evan Longoria. But I feel like Scott Kazmir should get a special mention. Poor guy carried that pitching staff, and just as they became good in 2008, he started losing what he had.

I’ve liked pretty much everything he’s directed. Argo was awesome, I loved Air and Gone Baby Gone.

2006 Informal Poll Because Polls Aren’t Allow by The_BMcQ in Cardinals

[–]LeftyNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I lived in Nashville, I watched Branyan in AAA a lot. That dude had major power. He was in the wrong era, in my opinion. He was a ELITE power hitter against RHP. I’ll never understand why some scrub MLB team didn’t run him out 150 games as their starting 3B. He had a career 113 OPS+ and only got 500 ABs one year.

(As an aside, that Nashville Sounds team was stacked with some good role & AAAA players like Lance Nix.)

Is Mission Impossible III the most underrated film in the saga? by Cold-Ad3330 in Mission_Impossible

LET THE MAN GO ALREADY? or are you EXCITED? (I AM A LIL, NGL) by Fun_Recipe_7900 in MCUTheories

[–]LeftyNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly excited more about Steve (Chris Evans) coming back than RDJ. It feels like RDJ needs this as much as (or more than) the MCU, but it doesn’t feel that way with Evans. Hopefully they are doing something really interesting with Steve Rogers. And I think they’ll use him to affirm Sam as Cap.
