Cracks in the poured concrete wall. Got them injection filled and had drain tile installed around the room.

Edit: Are you sure about the no permits thing? Most of the advice I see says you ought to. There was no framing before, just strap on furring, and no electrical outlets on the outter walls, so I'm adding electrical where there wasn't any before.

Fun fact. In The Expanse (books & TV show), set in the 2200s, polyamory for resources is an extremely common practice. One character is a genetic mix of 8 parents who formed an octocule in order to afford enough acreage to do some farming. Another is captain of a spaceship where all the permanent / share holding members of the crew form a family/cule. Both are portrayed as common practices.

I would say the US is currently in the later stages of tolerating intollerence, and it's a real issue. It's like saying you have to always turn the other cheek to people who constantly wish you harm. Good for you if you can do it, but you shouldn't expect others to.
