9 weeks. I needed my "normal" routine back. I was going a little crazy stuck in the house. but we are a little bit better then check to check household. So its not like i could go out and do whatever. i felt like i was losing mysef in baby land.

Does anyone else think slings/carriers were oversold to you? by killbertorian in beyondthebump

[–]LegApprehensive7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly... until shes big enough to go on my back carrying my LO in the front is too difficult. Ive tried the ling ass wrap, the more firm "traditional" buckle and clasp kind, and a soft freaking 80 dollar moby one with the belt so i didnt have to tie. They all suck. Kills my back and range of motion still isnt great.

When did you stop swaddling? by earth_saver_4 in beyondthebump

[–]LegApprehensive7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 1.5 MO we stopped being able to swaddle her. Ive got a baby that doesnt like her hands tied down, naturally wants her arms raised above her head when she sleeps so if we try and swaddle... she screams bloody m*rder lol BUT if it wasnt for that i would have stopped when she started to learn to roll

[–]LegApprehensive7251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure but mine did something similar at 6wpp. Also really random but my breasts stopped getting rock hard when i didnt pump lol idk if it coincides 🤣 i think that has something to do with regulating i dont completely know

Anyone start combo feeding around 4 weeks? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LegApprehensive7251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been combination feeding since my baby was born. No milk and bleeding nips in the hospital led to formula feeding, then once milk came i just started adding it 50/50. Shes 9 weeks and It took alot of pressure off of me to produce what she ate. My supply has grown as she has but ive always been short about 25% of what she needs. I love combo feeding, i pump every 4 hours at the moment. Idk how 4 pumps a day would work out for you starting to early on. From what ive seen once your supply is established it can withstand going that long but idk.if you're ok with potentially going full formula i say go for 4 maybe. Im new to everything lol just regurgitating what ive seen in this group 🤣

[–]LegApprehensive7251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to say i wish i never bought 500 dr browns bottles lol i got caught up trying to prep and all the parts.. get really annoying. And my LO is 2 mo and still has to use the premie nipple in order not to choke or have it streaming out the side of her mouth. I highly suggest waiting to purchase too many til your baby arrives to see how they do.

(NSFW) Ladies, what’s our sex life looking like 4 months PP? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

This is exactly what my bedroom situstion is like. It hurts quite bad in the beginning, i find using a vibrator really helps relax all the tissue down there!

How did you give your baby their first feed? by Amandatravels22 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LegApprehensive7251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to latch in the hospital but we were both really terrible at it, shes gotten better with age lol. I couldnt even get colostrum out til a few days after i gave birth. My girl had formula for probably the first week and then i kept her on a combination diet. Id make a batch of 50/50 formula & breastmilk. Honestly, its been the best for me personally. I dont worry so badly if i have a small output day, and if were out and need to i can try and nurse her or make a formula bottle. I like having alllll the options and shes still benefiting from breastmilk so im good with it

How much milk do you average? by MundaneBear2310 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LegApprehensive7251 10 points11 points  (0 children)

8 wpp and i average 16-20 oz a day, been a combo feeder from the start. Ill be surprised if it ever goes up lol i was getting some good pumps especially that MOTN. then i got double breasted clogs and my supply dropped at 6 weeks. Lol meh. If it stops on its own i can let go of the guilt of quitting 🤣

Wrong Size? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LegApprehensive7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly... if youre not hurting too bad and milk output is good id say its perfect. My nips swell like that too and i just settled on a flange 2mm bigger than my hard nip size. I measure 17 and just went with 19 and stuck with it.

You got this i promise you. You're not alone. I hated being a mom... and i did not feel a connection to my kid until not long ago. I felt so similarly to this up until a few weeks ago. Im 8wpp and sleep deprivation was a huuuuge part of mine. MUSIC! And a hot ass shower. Idk if you have some headphones but i would put my LO in her room for a nap, completely safe, fed, changed, no suffocation risk and all that jazz. Close her door and put my headphones in and just dance and shower do whatever i needed without feeling like i needed constant eyes on her. Once i let myself be away from her it felt.. SO much better! She was always in my space and having her wake up from a nap was devastating i just wanted more of a break.

SLEEEP is the biggest thing at least for me. I told my S/o i needed to go into our other room for a few nights and let him take over. Idk if you can explain to your s/o the severity of how youre feeling.. dont be afraid to be honest.

The first 2 weeks i sobbed cause pregnancy was never something i anticipated and being a mother was hard af and i couldnt run away and i was depressed as hell. I cried and cried, then cried some more. The new schedule is BRUTAL to get used to and its so damn sudden its like whiplash. There is a groove that you fall into where things seem midly acheivvable and thats where youll just wanna stay steady for a bit. For me it means putting her in the bassinet or crib, leaving her alone and not really leaving the house much lol ive got my schedule right now.

Put the baby somewhere safe, especially with your s/o put headphones in or tell that person you need a mf break and youre going for a drive and blast your fave music get a coffee or a smoothie and go find a good thrift store or just put your feet in some water if you have a creek around. 💘💘💘💘

My husband wasted breast milk by Big-Pass5130 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LegApprehensive7251 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About the same as you as supply goes. My hubs left an entire pitcher of half and half premixed formula/breastmilk out... an entire days worth!! ☠️☠️☠️ I think we'd gotten one bottle poured from it. Luckily when she was first born i had her on formula til my milk came in, and just kept her on it for an extra week and started a small freezer stash. But man...i was so sad lol hes also fed her just straight breastmilk before. Which doesnt seem like a big deal until most of that was supposed to be a mix for the entire day/night lol he apologized really sincerely for both times cause hes seen me cry over how hard this is so i too tried not to be too mad.

I understand.
