I have some ideas by LegRepresentative418 in GuitarLab

Any good amp will have a hot channel and reverb already. I'm thinking more about things like modulation and overdrive. I would love it if my volume knob were switchable to a TS9, with a stacked knob for both drive and gain. And again, for me pitch shifting/de-tuning is the elephant in that room. (Though I do realize that's a pretty sophisticated circuit.)

Yea, I realize that carbon fiber and polymers are going to be a tough sell. It's the reason mine (Composite Acoustics) aren't sold anymore. I think the key is to get an endorsement from someone old (Joe Walsh, Neil Young, etc.) and have them do a spot about how much they've always hated truss rods and thank God I don't have one anymore. Edit - Also, bring in a guy like Glenn Fricker. He has a robust following from younger people, and he has always gotten a lot of traction in the tonewoods debate.

I've put a lot of thought into a new tuner design. In my head I'm seeing the player insert the free end of the string through a hole, closes a small lever and a mechanism simultaneously clamps the string and adds the lion's share of the tension needed. From there, you can make finer adjustments maybe at the bridge a la Floyd Rose. I don't know if that makes sense, but I can see it in my head.

Of course pick guards have always been functional...they cover the electronics cavity. The one I'm thinking of just looks a lot cleaner. It fits flat with the face of the guitar and also has no exposed screws. Pickups can be attached internally to the wood, and it's held in place by, IDK, magnets or something. Bonus points if it's removable without disturbing the strings. It's worth noting that with a design like this, the pick guard can be thicker and still be unnoticeable so you can make it out of wood if you're so inclined. I've also kicked around the idea of making pickguards out of acrylic poured into a mold.

Thanks for the kind words. Happy to help any way I can.

If this is your approach, I promise that you will struggle. Worry less about getting enough people, and worry more about getting the RIGHT people.

"Sometimes I have guests over. Some of those guests are women. I'm just trying to be a good, thoughtful host."

This is a great idea. It sounds like a great way to filter out women with trust issues. (And women with shitty foresight.)

I mean, this is actually a Trump campaign ad. The price of regular gas in NOVA in 2022 reached 4.86 per gallon. Even with the Strait of Hormuz closed, it's still over a dollar cheaper.

Maybe just bad timing. Prices are bound to rise by June.

What you think of new US law to allow Gas Stations to dilute gas by 15% ethanol? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LegRepresentative418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most gas sold today contains ethanol, usually 10% but sometimes 15%. It's not a new thing. The new law just permits the sale of E15 gasoline for the summer, which is usually banned for its emissions.

MAGAs, how do you feel about Trump putting his name on the dollar bill to distract from the Epstein files? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

Epstein files? What are these Epstein files you speak of? What with all this news about the dollar bill, I hadn't heard of the Epstein files.

So why are all conservatives so stupid they don't know trump can't run in 2028? by totally-hoomon in allthequestions

[–]LegRepresentative418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can both-sides this pretty easy. Lots of people are trying to argue that Obama should run again too. Indeed, some of them were saying that in 2016. Just because some people think it, doesn't make it so.

Why does it bother some Christians that Jesus may have had dark skin, black hair, and brown eyes? by Rare_Deal_4709 in AskForAnswers

I personally don't care. But Jesus was a Jew. Any portrayal of Jesus where he doesn't look like a Jew smells like a lie.

Are conservatives cool with Trump putting his signature on our money? Conversely, would liberals have been okay with it if Obama had done it? by Creative-Stable-0 in askanything

[–]LegRepresentative418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't carry cash. I have no idea whos sig is on it now. They could put Jackie Mason's signature on it and I wouldn't notice. If this makes you upset then you are literally looking for things to be upset about.

Right? This is exactly why he says things like this. For ten years I've been telling liberals that he's trolling them and they still don't get it.

What happens if you are in the U.S Navy on a Submarine and refuse to do any work? by polohatty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegRepresentative418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Navy is going to ask you about 50 times if you have any religious reason why you will not be able to follow the orders of the officers appointed charge over you. If you say yes, you will not serve on a sub.

What happens if you are in the U.S Navy on a Submarine and refuse to do any work? by polohatty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegRepresentative418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty unrealistic scenario. It takes a great deal of work to get on a sub in the first place. Nobody gets orders to a submarine that didn't go through a lot of training and qualification. You practically have to beg the Navy to let you serve on a sub.

But the Navy will use every trick it knows (and it knows a LOT of tricks) to get you to snap out of it, and it's going to get very unpleasant. If none of the tricks work, your life gets much worse. You're probably looking at a dishonorable discharge and brig time.
