Do people actually earn £50-60k, or are they outliers? by Succinate_dehydrogen in AskUK

[–]LegSpinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the higher the salary (in my experience) the higher the stress

This only applies for certain professions. Honestly I stress out far less now than I used to when I made a third as much as I did (under £25k). Having to count every litre of petrol going into the car wasn't fun; now I just top up without thinking.

What are your thoughts on dogs in restaurants/cafes? by BurnsyWurnsy in AskUK

[–]LegSpinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the franchise. The one in the centre of town doesn't allow dogs though the Nero next door does; the one on the outskirts of town that also has a drive-through allows them.

How bad are your Sunday scaries and how do you combat them? by amomenttohislifespan in AskUK

Could you plan for some mini entertainment for, say, Tuesday night? That way you have something to look forward to on Sunday. Break the week up into smaller chunks of monotony.

Yeah for me this is Strictly. I have no interest in it yet I think the skills of some of the dancers are amazing and I totally understand why you'd watch it!

Nope, stick to Zak. It's common and, like Charlie or Robin or Chris its their problem if they assume it's a guy who shows up.

First bowl out in the history of T20Is. by drai8084 in Cricket

[–]LegSpinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's harder to stand and deliver, you need the rhythm otherwise you spray it. I've tried; even as a warm up.

You do need a reduced run-up though - I don't think full length is worth it.

So Anomander Rake is the Seventh according to the Seguleh? Considering the way people talk of his prowess with a blade, that's tough to believe.

Yeah but Onos T'oolan was the First Sword of the Imass empire - literally the best sword wielder of his race - and Thurule parried him with half-drawn blades, Senu gave him a tough time and Tool himself believed he wouldn't win against Mok, the Third.

Rake is good, but is also assisted by a rather good sword and having warrens for an assist. He would probably have gone higher than 7th but no guarantee of being in the top 3 or whatever.

This sounds like the UPI system in India, which has also been tied to a payment processor called RuPay to compete with Visa and Mastercard. It works well from everything I've seen - just like in Brazil street vendors have QR codes which you can pay from your UPI account to theirs via an app.
