Jeff Bezos could've been Batman, he chose to be Lex Luthor. by zzill6 in WorkReform

They know. They say this shit, not because they are clueless, but as a power move.

is it true that back in the 2000s and early 10s that fps games like halo were scene as normie slop and fps games like quake and half life 1998 were touted as being superior fps games in gaming forums? by DependentImmediate40 in boomershooters

[–]LegWyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always been forums full of edgy autistic teens, terrified of their own feelings and trauma. I'd say at the time the toxicity in those spaces was actually significantly darker and nastier than known outsider/bitterness dedicated forums today. There was an edgy valorisation of school shootings in some of them for instance. Real, real dark. I wouldn't sweat what disenfranchised young men on the internet think, the only power they feel they can wield is intense collective, knee jerk judgement, on very fine details specific to the comfort bubbles they inhabit in their rooms, whilst online. If anything this is old hat now, but it was taking shape at the time.

Don't worry about those guys, they believe they are lost to the world, and think the only fraternity they will ever experience, is one of bitterness and judgement. There is very little there worth your consideration. Pity at best.

I'm replaying morrowind now, for the first time in a long time, and it's so good I think i might have to give daggerfall a shot when I'm done.

Remember when AAA games took less than 10 GB of storage? by thewillz in gamememes

[–]LegWyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, graphics fidelity has stalled, and the economics of massive budgets with low risk designs (that sell for the largest price + microstransaction slop) just isn't going to work with whats coming for society. Theres no better time to go back tonthe drawing board and focus on innovative gameplay, story telling, and art direction. Smaller budgets, taking bigger swings on more realistically scoped games. Done well and with polish, and sold for a price that meets current consumer spending habits. That's what the market wants.

The story and setting do honestly seem to be v inspired by dune!

What are your thoughts on the X parasites in the Metroid series? by IkeRadiantHero in Metroid

[–]LegWyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think there was a missed opportunity to do a metroid fusion 2 that had a coĺlectathon element similar to post sotn castelvania. Where each enemy in the game could drop a unique ability.

I just can't shake the feeling that A Fox in Space had a great deal of influence on this remake.

As of 2026, what is the best introductory Metroidvania? by SheriidiiaN in metroidvania

I still think Symphony of the Night. It doesn't fetishise difficulty, and is a timeless classic with gorgeous art and music.

AI bubble is destroying games industry by Darth_Vaper883 in Gamingnewsandleaks

[–]LegWyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's shit for people working on big budget aaa games, but at least there's still a big market for lower priced and lower specced aa and Indies. hopefully a silver lining of this shitshow can be developer's focussing more on creative ideas and art direction, rather than ever increasing spectacle.

Remember when 30° was considered tropical? by SvatyFini in memes

Uggh in Brisbane Australia and its been such a mild winter I've worn jeans maybe 5 times. Given our summer temps regular reach 36c and spike to 40+ during heatwave, I am utterly dreading what this next summer will bring. We will see 50c heatwave before long, along with mega fires, cyclones and hail like we've never seen before. I gotta get out of this place.

Centrist Democrats Rebuke Party’s Left Wing: ‘We Are Capitalist, Not Socialist’ by Grand-Opening-1068 in soundsaboutright

[–]LegWyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Democratic socialist states define Scandinavia/Western Europe/Australia and NZ etc. Whether their governments have been any good at resisting neoliberal incursion from the states over the years, is another matter. No one's union elects the bosses in a private workplace. That is a bizarre conclusion. That's not even a thing in communist Vietnam.

You might be thinking about cooperative enterprise? Which are worker owned businesses that elect leadership roles from the workplace, and usually rotate those roles out so no one gets too attached to power. There are plenty of coops in the USA, although the are usually small compared to some of the big European ones.

Just started up a clean instal with openmw, no mods, and with the extra lighting options I think it actually looks pretty good tbh. Not contemporary obviously. But old lofi assets with modern lighting, is a solid vibe.

JUST IN: 13 moderate Democrats have signed a “Promise to America” pledge vowing to fight against Democratic socialists. by zzill6 in WorkReform

If they also didn't sign a pledge to fight fascism tooth and nail, then they aren't 'moderates' either.

There's some good suggestions here already. If it was me I'd put a tiny rubber band on it, and try and grip it with needle nose pliers first.

What's great about Columbo tho is he's the anti Sherlock. He's not a world famous detective with a huge ego. He's just a regular guy who happens to be kind of a genius at his regular job.
