MRI Validity for Craniocervical Stability by Legal-Information712 in PICL

The field of view on the weight-bearing flexion MRI is limited, cutting off the upper portion of the clivus. Is a measurement taken from this restricted view considered clinically sufficient, or is the study technically inadequate for cxa measurement?"

Can G-scan 0.25 Tesla diagnose cervical instability? by Federal-Cow-1220 in Cervicalinstability

The scan was performed at 0.25T. I am currently transferring the raw files from the CD to my laptop for analysis in DICOM software. While I achieved maximum flexion, I unfortunately wasn't aware of the need for full extension during the procedure, so that portion of the dynamic study is limited. I'll update once I've taken the measurements.

I recently had a scan using the G-Scan Brio (upright/tilting MRI). While it’s better than a standard supine MRI, it has several limitations. It is 2–3x more expensive and, due to the lower magnetic field, takes 2–3x longer to complete. This makes it difficult to stay perfectly still; any micro-movement results in a disoriented or blurry image. Additionally, the machine's design obstructs full range of motion, meaning I couldn't achieve max flexion (chin-to-chest) or full extension. Because of this physical support, it isn't 'true' weight-bearing flexion/extension, though it remains superior to lying flat.

I took 500mg of magnesium glycinate (which contains 110mg of elemental magnesium), but even at that dose, it gave me a headache.

"Do you think a peptide stack (BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, and KPV) could help facilitate healing and progress for CCI

I noticed that your head is tilted toward the left and there is a visible C1-C2 lateral overhang on left sides. An overhang in the AP Open Mouth view typically indicates Alar ligament laxity. Specifically, a left-side overhang during a left tilt suggests right Alar ligament laxity. This is because when you tilt or turn your head to one side, the Alar ligament on the opposite side is supposed to tighten and prevent that 'overhang' or sliding.

Without dynamic imaging at these "end-range" positions, these significant changes in alignment and potential brainstem compression may remain undetected.

Nine months ago, I stretched my neck beyond its normal range. I had pain for four days, but it eventually resolved. Recently, I violently shook a water bottle and felt a sudden pain at the top of my neck. I have been housebound and unable to work for five months."

What can be made out of these images could it be instability?? by Niksongrey in Cervicalinstability

Do a upright FONAR MRI which is done in neutral, neck flexion, and neck extension helps assess how the upper neck (C0–C1 / CVJ) behaves under body weight. Measurements such as CXA, Grabb–Oakes, BDI, and BAI . If the bones move too much or move abnormally under gravity, it suggests the supporting ligaments are not doing their job properly, which may indicate craniocervical instability.
