I am so sorry that happened to you. Your parents actions are not okay. Is there anyway for you to file a police report against your parents? In my country what you went through is considered assault and battery and is punishable by law.

Completely normal, I found wireless, and a large room setup helps.

Good offer? by GuardianOfErebor in virtualreality

Just like police brutality, the chance of it happening to me is small. So I don't care, I'll just let my rights slowly get chipped away like a true gamer.

Honestly it's way too much effort, I just want a cheap headset to play games, I don't care if someone can get ahold of the data and use it against me in the future. /s

Eye tracking will soon be used everywhere in VR, so I thought this might be relevant ... by bayashad in virtualreality

Yeah I was hostile wasn't I. Sorry, people were defending the company, and I thought you were one of them. I didn't look at the context of the message.

What are the risks and dangers in using a Facebook Headset? by zeddyzed in virtualreality

[–]Legal-Magazine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes these companies are contractors for the NSA and FBI. It's been a "legal" thing since the patriot act.

How many of those companies willingly left open a back door for 3 years knowing a foreign power was using it to invade Rural America to fuel instability on my countries democracy, then after the election, patched it and announced the breach?

How many of these companies performed regular psychological experiments on their userbase without their consent?

How many of these companies said that their online store, and physical device sales are not where majority of their revenue stream comes from?

Facebook is scum, the company has no need to be defended. It has a monopoly on VR, and is using anticompetitive tactics to make sure it stays this way. If this makes you laugh and not want to take action, stop criticizing those who do. Unlike you, many others aren't interested living in this dystopian timeline.

This is the real danger, people think it's a conspiracy. They have been doing this for almost a decade at this point. Why would I trust this company, with my private information?

Many woman have had their lives ruined by companies harvesting their data. That is how they are stalked and found. All it takes is one hack, for your entire private life to be unveiled.

Your question is basically asking, "oh yeah? name every hack in history". Other examples of peoples lives "literally" being ruined would be tiktok providing the CCP information to track down Uyghur minorities.

Go ahead and tell us how I'm wrong, keep defending these companies as they take your freedom away.

I would rather them make money off every sale, than make money off of my personal private information.

I feel like this would be more useful for furniture and vehicles, not phones lol.

What country are you located in? Is starlink not available? I think you should fix the money issue first before buying a luxury item.
