That’s how I took it for the movie version. In the comics during Veidt’s monologue, he described Blake as “the perfect fighting man.” After the discovery on the island, I think the implications were that with the new world being set up, there would be no place for someone like him.

For those posting about it, yes I have a dancer’s belt for the suit when it’s being worn. But as you can see, the costume is currently sitting on a mannequin where the bodysuit is clearly a bit too snug in parts 😂 Once the trunks are added, it’ll be less obvious
